The fair haired angel looked down to earth, and watched with
excitement.
Soon she would be down there among the people.
She lay there on the cloud and peered over the puffy whiteness. Her
wings fluttered in excitement. She could hardly believe God had wanted
her to do this.
It seemed someone down there needed her help. Though she could not
figure out what for. God had many reasons for sending his angels back
down. Oh, not the original angels, no they never were called to go back
down, not since biblical times. But they had their important jobs way
back when.
This particular angel was new and had just gotten her wings. No one
would tell her how she died though, so she didn't know the terrible
accident that had happened. But she was happy to be here. And even more
happy to be going back down so she could breathe the smells, take it
all
in once again.
When she was called God had told her very little, only that she would
not have her wings. Also she would not remember who she was when she
was
before. Only that she would remember the things she liked. God said
that
this was key in her arrival and mission.
After a long while of looking down, the angel rose to her feet and
walked back to the gates of heaven. Peter let her pass, skipping the
line of the hopeful newcomers. She remembered that line so well. She
chuckled at seeing the worried faces. She waved to Peter sitting behind
his big book.
When she got home, she flopped down on her couch with a sigh. Sometimes
heaven could be a real drag.
'I am sure glad I am going back down,' she thought. 'This is really
getting boring.' But don't ever tell God this. She fell asleep on the
couch, and dreamt of what was to come.
When she woke, the angel realized that she was late. Late for her
appointment with God himself. She couldn't believe she drifted off like
that. But the dream was so real. She could taste it.
As she walked the distance she remembered her dream. It was a wiered
dream, not in itself that it was strange. But she never dreamed of
people she knew, or used to know, as the case may be. This one was
strange in that it took place at a wrestling show. 'How odd.' she
thought.
She finally reached where God was. He was sitting on His throne of
gold.
He motioned for her to come closer. So she did, albeit on wobbly legs,
as she did yesterday. She kneeled before Him, it was only fitting.
"Are you prepared to go now?" God gently asked her.
"Yes, sir I am." she replied. 'As much as I ever will be.' she thought.
"Stand up, my child." God bid her. Motioning with his hand. The angel
rose, and stood on the steps before His throne. "I think you will do an
excellent job. I cannot find anyone else willing to do this task."
The angel looked up at God, and became more curious as to what her takl
would be. But she knew she should not ask, because He already told her
that she wouldn't know until it happened.
"I am sending you because you are the only one that is not afraid to go
to these people that need you." God said, and looked into her eyes. She
had always wondered what color God's eyes would be, they are blue. Like
the heavens.
"Oh," was all she could think to reply.
"You will go now." and before she could say anything more, she was
there
on earth. Standing in a crowd of people. Waiting in line, with a ticket
in her hand.
"Hey, where ya sittin'?" some fuzzy bearded man in back of her asked,
peering around her shoulder. The fair haired angel was stunned to say
the least.
