Chapter 1 - Sandra

In this little area of Orangeville, Ontario, lived a couple of teenagers, all aged between 17 and 19, who were always together. They were inseparable. There was Sandra with her brother Adam, Sandra's best friend Betty and Adam's best friend Jason. They all lived on the same block and they would always watch each other's back' and stand up for their friendship. At college, they were called the Kliq and there were so many other teenagers that wanted to join them, but they were not accepting anybody. In a way, they were acting like they didn't want anybody else to have fun with them.

After college, they would always go to Sandra and Adam's house to hang out. Adam and Jason had this dream of being pro wrestlers, just like Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Savage and Andre the Giant. They had built a ring and they would wrestle and try moves like they would see on TV. The girls would be there and would watch the guys wrestling. The girls were always recruited to play the "Valet" like Elizabeth would do with Macho Man. It was really fun for them. At night, Jason and Betty would either all stay over Sandra and Adam's or go back to their houses, but most of the time, they would all stay.

Sandra had a crush on Jason, but she never admitted to him or either to her brother, because they were all best friends, and she didn't want that atmosphere to change. The only one who knew was Betty, and she told her because Betty told her that she had a crush on her brother, Adam. Maybe, that was also the reason why they didn't want anybody to join their Kliq.

One Saturday night, they were all over at Sandra and Adam house, and they were watching a movie, St. Elmo's fire. They were all sitting on the couch, with popcorn and the guys were having a couple of beers. All of a sudden, the girls could see that the guys were drinking more than usual, and they were giggling and were really cuddly with the girls. They were sitting in order like Betty, Adam, Jason and Sandra. For some reason, the guys didn't want the girls to be sitting next to each other and the reason they gave was that they didn't want to hear them talk during the movie, which was something that they would do, every time they were sitting together to watch the movie. So, the girls didn't ask question and sat where the guys wanted, but Betty felt like something was different in the air, like if something would happen tonight. Adam and Jason looked at each other and nodded their heads slightly, like if they were ready do to something, and all of a sudden, they both put their arms around the girls' shoulders, pulling them towards them until the girls had their heads resting on their chest. You have to understand that Adam and Jason were stuck to the bone', and if one was doing something, the other was too. Earlier in the week, the two guys were talking about their feeling over the girls, but they didn't know how the girls would react, they knew that they wouldn't be rejected, but they didn't know if the girls wanted to get involved with them.

When the guys put their arms around the girls, the girls were surprised, but didn't reject them, they just made themselves comfortable. Betty was enjoying it, she had a crush on Adam for the longest time, but she had been afraid to make the first move for two reasons. First, the friendship between the four of them, and the second being that he was her best friend's brother, and if her and Adam getting involved would affect her friendship with Sandra, Betty would rather not even try anything. When both girls talked about it, Sandra had said she didn't have any problem with Betty dating her brother. Sandra thought it would be so cool, and she knew that Betty would take care of her brother and that she had nothing to worry about.

Sandra didn't know how to react either, but she guessed that if he was comfortable making the move, it was because Jason had talked to Adam beforehand. Sandra really liked Jason, he was really quiet and he would always defend Sandra every time she got into trouble. She knew that Adam would agree to it, because he knew that Jason would take care of her or else Jason would be dead. They watched the rest of the movie, just cuddled on each other.

Chapter 2 - Lady B

Their lives progressed as the two couples became closer and closer and soon they were out of College. The guys were already enrolled in a wrestling school and had left for training a week earlier.

Sandra and Betty had decided to move into an apartment together after graduation and were now employed by a well-known magazine as heads of their respective departments. Sandra was the lead reporter while Betty was the head photographer. They would go out to events (mainly sports events) and while Sandra interviewed the players, Betty went around with her camera and took photos of the event and of the interview.

Several years went by and slowly but surely the girls lost touch of where the guys were and what was happening with their careers.

One Wednesday, after the girls had been working at the magazine for about 5 years, Wally the Editor called them both into his office. "Ladies, have a seat. I have a special assignment and I need to send my best people out there." Sandra sat back in one of the comfortable leather chairs as Betty pulled out a cigarette from her Jean's pocket and lit it up. Sandra arched her eyebrow, expectantly. "So are you going to tell us or do we have to guess what this assignment is" Betty said as she exhaled smoke and pitched the pack of cigarettes towards Sandra, who caught it and also removed a cigarette from the pack and lit it. "Girls, you are going to kill me with the smoke" Wally said as he fanned the air around him. "Well, it entails traveling to Detroit for one of the biggest sports events to be shown there in a long time" he said as he swiveled his chair around and opened the window to his office to let out some of the smoke.

"Okay, I'll bite" Sandra said. "What kind of sports event is it? I mean, considering we have only traveled in Canada, I'm just trying to figure out what sports event could be that big that you would have to send us out there to cover it" she added. "Well, it's just the biggest sport to expand in the last year in the states" Wally replied. "Listen Wally, either you tell us what it is, or I'll have to come behind your desk and pound it out of you" Betty said. "You really don't want to rile our Latin tempers up, do you?" Betty added as she stood in front of his desk, with her hands on her hips and the cigarette dangling from her lips.

"Calm down" Wally said as he put his hands palm out towards Betty. "Okay, okay. Don't get so testy. I know you girls have wanted to travel out of Canada and this is the perfect opportunity to do it. You both will get your passports so that you can stay in the States for as long as necessary, compliments of the Magazine and all your expenses will be covered. Get ready you two" Wally said as he looked from one to the other. He finally continued "You are going to cover the WWF Live Raw that will take place in the Joe Louis Arena in exactly a week and a half. So I think you both should start getting everything ready that you think you might need". He let that sink in and then continued. "Betty, aside from pictures I've been asked if you would do several other things for the WWF while you are there. That goes for you too, Sandra. Betty they would like to see if you could run the t.v. Camera that's closest to the ring, as they are having a hard time getting someone proficient to do it that can follow the action from that vantage point. Also, there is an up and coming tag team that they are thinking of making a video on, so they would like you to help them with that.

Sandra they would like you to interview the wrestlers during their skits in the locker room and hallways and possibly sit in with the announcers at the announce table. What do you girls say, will you do it?" Wally said pleading. "This is a big opportunity for you girls and for the magazine as well to have two of it's most well know people helping out at a big event such as this.

Sandra and Betty looked at each other with shock on their faces, which Wally took to be a no. "Of course you girls will be very well compensated for all your troubles while you are there" he added as a way of putting more incentive to the trip. "Well, now that you put it that way, I guess we can do it" Betty said trying to hide the excitement she was feeling. Sandra nodded her ascent and they both got up and walked to the door to leave. "Oh, before I forget . . . "Wally started to say as Sandra and Betty both looked at him with 'what now' exasperated looks on their faces. "Pick up your passports, company credit cards and your itinerary from Michelle at the front desk before you leave today. You have to be in Detroit by Friday to get everything ready and work with the pre-production crew so you will have a day to pack. Now get the hell out of here" he added as he waved his hand at them in dismissal. Sandra and Betty looked at each other again and Betty said to Wally "Okay" as she opened the door and stepped out with Sandra close by.

Once out in the hallway they looked at each other and hugged. "I can't believe it" Sandra said as they both screeched. "Isn't the WWF the last place Adam and Jason were working for?" Betty asked. "Yeah, but I haven't heard from Adam in over 3 years so I don't know if they are still there" Sandra replied as she got a dreamy look just thinking about Jason. "Well, maybe we'll meet up with them" Betty said as she felt the butterflies start in her stomach at just the mention of Adam's name. "Come on, we have a lot to do" Sandra said as she grabbed Betty's hand and pulled her towards the front desk.

Chapter 3 - Sandra

They got into Sandra's Jeep and drove to their apartment. They were both excited about the idea, but they just loved making their boss suffer. He never knew if the girls were happy or not and if they were joking or not. But he loved them very much and would give the girls all the best assignments.

Driving back home, Betty and Sandra couldn't stop laughing and talking about what if' this or what if' that, if their destiny was meant to see the guys again or not. Betty never wanted to ask Sandra the question why she and Adam hadn't spoken for the past three years. She wanted to know, but didn't know how to bring it up. This time, she got the perfect opportunity, realizing that they could see him again. Betty looked at Sandra while she was driving and asked her if she could ask her a personal question. Sandra, with the corner of her eye, looked at Betty and told her that there was nothing that she didn't know about her, but to go ahead. Betty took a deep breath and asks her the ultimate question: "Why haven't you heard from Adam in three years?"

Sandra got caught off guard with the question. At the beginning, she didn't want to talk about it, and Betty didn't pressure her either, but all of a sudden, they went down a street, which wasn't a usual road to go back home, and they ended up in front of a little park. Sandra parked the Jeep and looked at Betty with sad eyes. Sandra knew that the day would come and she would be asked the question. Sandra took a deep breath and asks Betty if she was ready. Betty never thought that it would be so hurtful to talk about it, but she turned herself on her seat to face Sandra.

Sandra told her that 3 years ago, her mother found out that their dad was cheating on her. So, of course, like all the families, Adam stood up for their father and she stood up for her mother. Well, after the night that her mom found out, Sandra had a conversation with Adam, and found out that Adam knew about the relationship, but didn't say a word, which threw Sandra for a loop. She thought that something like that should have been brought up to their mom's attention, but that was the stage in Adam's life when he was going through his macho bravado and thought it was normal for a man to do that kind of stuff. Their dad had been cheating on their mom for the past 2 years. The day that her mom found out, she moved out, and of course, Sandra followed her. 6 months after moving out, Sandra's mom died of aids, which she caught from her husband. Sandra at that point thought that the one responsible for her death was her father, but she also blamed Adam, and on the day of the funeral, she told Adam that she never wanted to see him again, that she didn't have a brother anymore.

Betty couldn't figure out how she didn't get to see any of this. Sandra told her that she didn't want anybody in the neighborhood to find out about what had happened. And that their moving out and her mother's subsequent death had happened while Betty was traveling through Europe for 2 months. When Betty returned from Europe she found out that Sandra's mom had died, but she thought that it was from cancer which had gone undetected before and that's why she had passed so quickly.

Sandra had asked Betty if she wanted to move in with her after her mother's death. Betty thought it was just because of the death of her mom and during that same period, Adam left with Jason for the WWF tryouts in Connecticut. Everything made sense for Betty so she never really asked any question, but now as Adam's name was mentioned she had to ask Sandra the truth. Sandra looked out the window and a few tears ran down her cheeks. After all the guilt that she put on her brother's shoulders, she missed him terribly and she wished that he would be working for the WWF so that she would be able to talk to him after all these years. Betty asked Sandra if she was okay and said she was sorry about what happened. Betty undid her seat belt and gave Sandra a big hug. Sandra knew that the only person who was there for her was Betty and that she would understand the reason why she never told her anything. Betty looked at Sandra and mentioned that they were lucky, cause they would be getting paid to watch half naked men and that they would be taking pictures of, and interviewing, them.

Sandra started laughing at the same time that a tear fell down her cheek again. Sandra asked Betty if she was ready to go as she wiped the tear away and started the Jeep to go back home to pack. They only had tonight to pack and they had to leave the next day for Detroit to meet with the big man, Vince McMahon.

When they got home, Betty ran to the living room and decided to check on the net that was wrestling in the WWF. She got connected to the Internet and she got into the WWF web page. She got into the superstars section to see who was working there. She went down the names and she didn't see either Adam or Jason's name. Betty yelled for Sandra to come and see her.

When Sandra arrived, Betty asked her if Adam ever had a stage name which he would have gone under. Sandra thought about it for a moment, and she told her that Adam loved Edge as name, so Betty started looking under Edge, but no luck. Then, she decided to check every one of the lists. She clicked on The Brood name, and as it wad loading the picture, spouffff..... The power went off.... Betty was not impressed because she thought that she recognized somebody in the picture, but she didn't a good look at it. Now, they had to finish packing in the dark, with just candlelight to see what they were doing.

Chapter 4- Lady B

They packed in the dark. Betty made sure she had her cameras and lenses. She also made sure to pack her video camera along with the others. She put her shoulder and tripod for her video camera into the bag. As an afterthought she threw her sketch pad and charcoals into the bag too. She checked her developing kit and put that in also. When she was done she had her carryall ready plus her pull car with all her equipment.

Sandra packed her recorder, tapes, pads and pens. She was done in no time.

They decided to go to bed but could hardly sleep from the excitement. They tried though, but wound up thinking about whether they would see Adam and Jason as they tossed and turned on their beds all night long.

In the morning as they dressed Betty walked into Sandra's room as she brushed her. "Man I feel as if I was run over by a truck" Betty said as she pulled her hair into a ponytail. "You too, huh?" Sandra replied as she pulled a sweater over her head.

They finished dressing and went outside with their bags, which they loaded, into Sandra's jeep. Several minutes later they were on the road singing to a tune which was playing on the radio. They arrived in Detroit several hours later and went directly to the Arena where they had been told Vince would be waiting for them. They drove up to the gate and showed the guard their press passes and he let them through. Sandra was wearing boots with a pair of jeans and a sweater, while Betty had on jeans, sneakers and a denim jacket over a T-shirt and a baseball cap on her head turned backwards. She was smoking a cigarette as they got out of the car at the Arena and went up to the guard at the entrance.

"Hey, no one is allowed back here. The show is not for two weeks yet, so if you are looking for autographs the wrestlers haven't arrived yet" The guard said as they approached him. Betty and Sandra looked at themselves and then at the guard. They reached into their back pockets and produced their press passes. Betty flashed hers in the guards face and said, "We're here to see Vince McMahon" as she stubbed out her cigarette and looked at the guard with an intense look. "Sorry ladies" he said as he opened the door. "He's in the office half way around here. Just follow that corridor and you should come upon his office" he said with a sheepish look on his face.

Sandra and Betty entered and as they started walking down the corridor they couldn't help but burst out laughing. "You are something else" Sandra said to Betty. "You just love to intimidate men, don't you?" she said through burst of laughter. "I still haven't met one I couldn't make back down aside from Adam" she said as she laughed along with Sandra. They composed themselves before they got to the office the guard had told them Vince would be in. When they got there the door was ajar and they could hear Vince on the phone talking. "What do you mean they won't give him a Visa to enter the U.S.? You better get on the ball cause I need him here in a week's time" Vince was overheard saying. Betty knocked on the door and they entered when they heard Vince say "Come in". They stood there as Vince finished his call. "I know he's a Canadian citizen, but you better make sure they are both here, or else" he said as he hung up. He looked at Betty and Sandra. "Just two of my best wrestlers having problems getting to the Arena" he said. He got up from his seat and came over to them. "You must be the girls from the magazine. Let me guess. You are Sandra. I've seen your picture on the magazine, so you must be Betty" he said as he shook their hands in turn. I've seen your work in many magazines and newspapers. It's good" he said to Betty. He then turned to Sandra "And your interviews are very informative. Please, ladies sit down. Would you care for something to drink?" he asked. "Water would be good" Betty said. He looked at Sandra. "The same for me" she said. Vince went over to a portable frig and pulled out two bottles of water and handed them to the girls.

"Now our boss said we were to do some special assignments while we were here" Sandra said. "Can you fill us in on them?" she added. "Well, one of the things I will need is for Betty to handle one of the portable cameras during the interviews that will be shot before the actual show. Sandra, you will conduct some of the interviews. There will be several shot within the prior 3 days of the show, so you girls will have to be around here a lot. During the actual show, I will need you to sit at the announcer's table for several of the matches' cause Jerry Lawler will be arriving late due to prior commitments and since you will be here I think it would be great exposure for you. Betty, I will need you to man the camera in the 8th row in the audience while the matches are going on, cause that cameraman is out for a while. That is if you girls don't mind" he said as he looked from one to the other. "No problem here" Betty said. "It's okay with me" Sandra added.

"Good, then that's settled. Now how about I have someone show you girls where the hotel is and you can freshen up and I'll see you both back here at around 8:00 p.m. So that you can read the script and see how the interviews will go." he said as he got up and walked them to the door. "Harry, show the ladies where the hotel is" he said to one of the gophers that were scrambling around with papers in their hands as they took care of various duties. "No problem, Mr. McMahon" Harry replied. "Ladies follow me" he said as he led them outside and over to the parking lot. "It's just a couple of blocks from here so if you would just follow me in your car I'll take you over and make sure your check in goes smoothly" he said.

Betty and Sandra got into the Jeep and followed Harry to the Marriott several blocks away from the Arena. They walked in together and the girls checked in. "Harry, thanks for your help and we'll see you later" Sandra said as they were handed the key to their suite. Harry left to go back to the arena as the girls went up to their room.

When they opened the door to their room they couldn't believe what they were seeing. The door had opened to a living room with a giant t.v. screen and stereo equipment, full wet bar and a balcony. "Holy shit" Betty said as they walked around. They came back to the center of the room after they had checked both rooms and saw that they were identical with Jacuzzi's and the whole nine yards. "I'll take this one, it that's okay with you" Betty said as she pointed to the one on the left. "No problem" Sandra replied as she grabbed her bags and went into the room on the right to unpack.

As they were pulling out their stuff from their bags there was a knock on the door. Betty went to answer it as she held one of her cameras in her hand. When she pulled the door open there was room service with food for them. "You must have the wrong room" she said to the waiter. "This is room 611 is it not?" he said. "Yes it is" Betty replied. "Well this is for you ladies compliments of Mr. Vince McMahon and Titan Enterprises" he said as he wheeled the cart in and started placing the trays of food on the table. Sandra stepped out of her bedroom with a puzzled look on her face. "From Vince" Betty said "Enjoy ladies" the waiter said as Betty signed the check and he left.

They went over to the trays and removed the covers there was Prime Ribs cooked to perfection with baked potatoes and a side dish of corn on the cob. They had salads and a red wine had been provided. "Wow, we have to make sure we thank Vince when we get back" Sandra said as they sat down to eat.
