It was lots of fun!!
Last time, I was really late and only saw two matches, this time I was REALLY early and I waited outside the arena – inside the park – to get in. I think now that summer is here and the park is open later the shows will start later, which is going to end up with lighting issues cuz by the main event the sun was mostly down and the lighting wasn’t all that great.however.
1 - Mark Henry, Nova, and Chris Cage vs. Johnny Spade, John (TEIII), and Orlando Jones.
Really interesting to see John from TEII, he’s a super heel and his ring attire is black, “look to be painted on” tights. VERY nice. He’s also very very narrow, no hips, little butt and great abs. I also forgot at these shows, unlike regular WWE shows audience participation is almost mandatory. We shout at them and they shout back!! It’s hysterical for them to turn around while you’re yelling at them and they yell back right at you. LOL It was an okay match, was taking pictures of Nova and John most of the time.
2 - Passion vs. Jill ???
I don’t have any clue who either of these ladies were but they’re really good. No puppies chants and some very technical moves. As they were getting out of the ring, I noticed they were both pretty beat up – lots of read blotches all over them. Way to go ladies!!
3 - Nick Dinsmore vs. Rob Conway "Loaded Glove on a pole" match.
Obviously there’s a loaded glove, which is a glove with chains on the fingers and top part. Pretty kewl match, Dinsmore is a crowd favorite and Conway is a favorite heel – if that makes sense. BEST chant of the night: When the match was over, Dinsmore won and left the ring. Jackie is trying to help up Conway. Jackie used to valet for Damaja until she turned on him and joined the Revolution, which Conway is part of, Jackie is helping Conway out of the ring and this HUGE “hot tub ho” chant starts. I couldn’t understand it at first, cuz it was kinda choppy, but then everyone got it together and it was really clear and really loud. HYSTERICAL. Also at the beginning when they came out, some guys at ringside were flashing dollars at Jackie. *snicker*
4 - Seven w/ Synn vs. ????
Synn is a non-typical valet. She’s got black hair, short, not teeny tiny, and she carries a cat-o-ninetails to the ring *quirks brow*. She’s actually very kewl. Seven is a major cutie. Although I’m prolly not supposed to realize that cuz he does the drone, robotic kind of gimmick. Slightly reminded me of Taker and Kane when they first came about. He’s tough as hell. He did a clothesline on this guy and I was on the third row and I swear I felt it. OUCH!!
5 - aPa vs. Bolin Services (Some blond guy/ Mark Jindrak)
I still can’t believe how much Jindrak has changed, physically, since I saw him last. He was so skinny and narrow before and he’s put on a lot of muscle and his hair is longer. Anyway, slight background is Bolin services has a ‘butler” and “accountant” that aPa kidnapped and brought out all taped up with them to the ring. It was a good match, the aPa kept their titles and lots of before the match trash talking by Bradshaw; who is just so funny when he wants to be. He worked Bolin – who I’m guessing is supposed to be a bad imitation of Paul Bearer crossed with Ted DiBiasiti(sp) – into a frenzy that his boys had to hold him back and what was funny is they’re trying not to laugh while doing it. lol 2nd Best chant: Audience calls Kenny Bolin, "Porky". ROFL
Interesting note: Nidia’s sister is their valet. She plays Nurse Lulu. She looks a lot like Nidia except she’s skinny, and a little taller.
MAIN EVENT
The Machine: Doug Basham (Basham Brothers from Smackdown) w/ Nikita and Kanyon
vs. Johnny Jeeter and Scott Steiner
WOOHOO!! My baby!! Who I have not be able to see here cuz I still haven’t gone to a regular OVW show! Nikita is Machine’s valet and she’s been getting a lot of talk on newsboards cuz she can actually wrestle! Kanyon and Machine wouldn’t get in the ring and spent a LOT of time stalling. My baby is such a good heel! lol
Kinda back and forth with Jeeter in the ring most of the time. It ended with Steiner putting that recliner move on Kanyon and telling Jeeter to get the pin. It’s lots of fun when they yell back, cuz Jeeter is also a fan favorite and he loves playing the crowd and the little kids. I think I may claim him, but we’ll see.
I should have the pictures sometime this weekend, don’t know when I’ll get to the store.
The next show is in a couple of weeks and already we got a few matches. aPa vs. La Resistance, Randy Orton vs. Matt Morgan, and a 3 on 2: big show and damaja vs. revolution which is Johnny Spade, Rob Conway, and Machine. Should be interesting!
