Chapter 9

When Taker woke up he reached over to grab Betty, but only found that her side of the bed was empty. He sat up and noticed that she had left him a note on the pillow. He grabbed it and read – Thank you for a wonderful evening. Hope to see you later. Love you always. Betty. – He felt as if he was missing a part of himself and he did not like that feeling. He got out of bed, put on a pair of shorts and went into the living room. He went to the small frig and poured himself a glass of milk. He sat down on the sofa that he and Betty had been sitting on the night before. He was deep in thought when Kane stumbled out of his room also headed towards the frig. After Kane had swigged the milk that was left in the container, he came over to Taker. "Hey big brother, why the long face?" "I can't seem to get her out of my mind" Taker replied. "She's been gone just a few hours and I already miss her. I need to see her again" he added. "I know exactly how you feel" Kane replied as he sat down next to Taker. "I have this raging need to see Storm again too" Kane added. They looked at each other and knew exactly what they were going to do. "Meet you in 15 minutes" Taker said as he headed towards his room at a run. He showered quickly, got dressed and came back out to the living room to find Kane already waiting for him pacing back and forth. They headed out in search of the girls. They first went to their room and found that they were not there. They then headed towards the lobby to see if they were at the gift shop. When they reached the lobby, they spotted the girls standing by the gift shop talking to Edge and Christian. The guys approached them and stood behind the girls, with their arms crossed over their chests, as the girls spoke to the other two wrestlers. When Edge and Christian saw Taker and Kane approach they became very apprehensive. They kept on staring past the girls. "What's wrong Edge?" Betty asked. Edge just nodded his head indicating that she should turn around. When she did she came face to chest with Taker. He had a smile on his lips and an inquisitive look on his face. "Listen, girls, its been great talking to you, but we gotta go" Edge said as he started to back away from them. Christian followed suit and they took off. Taker just looked at Betty and said "You left me without even waking me up to say goodbye. Did I do something that bothered you?" "No. You just looked so peaceful sleeping that I did not have the heart to wake you" she replied looking up at him with a smile in her eyes. He bent his head until he was looking at her directly in the eyes and said "If you ever do that to me again . . ." as he wrapped her up in his arms and hugged her, picking her up from the floor. Meanwhile Kane had Storm against the wall across from the gift shop and was kissing her all over her face while she giggled. "That's what you get for leaving me without saying goodbye" he was saying to her as he tickled her. Her peals of laughter could be heard all over the lobby. When Taker put Betty down she looked at him and said "You are so sweet, but you don't have to spend all of your time with me. I know that there are things that you normally would do while you are between performances and you are putting them off to be with me." He looked at her seriously and said "There is nothing more important to me right now than spending the rest of the day with you. That is, unless you don't want to be with me" he added. "That is not what I meant" Betty replied. "There is nothing I would like better than to spend the rest of this day, and all the time I have available until I have to leave tomorrow, with you" she said as she looked lovingly up into his eyes. Taker put his arms around her and said "Then I will make it a point not to let you out of my sight." Kane had finally stopped torturing Storm. Turning towards Taker and Betty he said "I don't know about you guys, but I am starving. I need food." They all laughed and headed towards the restaurant at the hotel. They were serving brunch, which was all you can eat and the guys appeared to be in heaven. They went back for thirds while the girls were still working on their first plates. When the guys were finally stuffed they sat back and talked for awhile. "Little brother, we have to get to the gym sometime before the event tonight so that we can work on some of your moves" he said to Kane. "I know, but I really don't want to leave the girls alone for even that period of time" Kane said. "Or didn't you notice that no sooner are they out of our sights, the rest of the wrestlers start hitting on them." Betty looked at Storm and then at the guys and said "If you are referring to Edge and Christian, we stopped them to talk in the lobby and they were perfect gentlemen." "See what I mean, we can't let them out of our sights because then they go out and start picking up strange men" Kane added with a twinkle in his eyes. Storm looked at Kane and elbowed him in the ribs lovingly. "You have got to get those thoughts out of your mind big fella, or else" she said shaking her clenched fist at him. They all laughed and decided they would go walk around for a while before they returned to the hotel to rest a bit. They exited the hotel and right away the guys put their Ray Bans on because the sun was really beaming. They held hands and walked towards Fairmount Park. They reached Kelly Drive and sat by the water to watch the scull teams in the river. They talked and acted like kids for a while before they decided to head back to the hotel. When they got back the girls decided that they were going to go rest for awhile before the wrestling show that evening. The guys agreed because they had to go to the gym before they had to head to the arena. The guys walked the girls to their floor and parted outside of their room. Taker kissed Betty and told her that he would pick her up at 6:00 p.m. and she could ride on the bus with them to the arena. Kane also said that he wanted Storm to accompany him on the bus. The girls entered the room as the guys got on the elevator to go to the gym to work out.

Chapter 10

At precisely 5:55 p.m. Taker and Kane where knocking on the door to the girls room and escorting them downstairs a few minutes later. They met up with the bus to take them to the arena in the hotel parking lot. The girls were greeted by the wrestlers as they boarded and they headed towards the back of the bus where the guys could sit down and stretch their legs without having to worry about someone tripping over their feet. They arrived at the arena ½ hour later, disembarked and entered through the wrestler's entrance. Taker and Betty went to look for Taker's dressing room while Kane, along with Storm, talked to Triple H about their upcoming match. When Betty and Taker reached his dressing room they found that his cape had been substituted by another which had big puffed shoulders, and a pair of boots with buckles had been placed on the bench for him to wear. He also noticed that there was a fake beard on the dressing table which he would have to wear that was parted slightly on the bottom. Betty picked up the beard with two fingers and looked at it. She turned to him with it still dangling from her fingers and asked with laughter in her voice "Do you really have to wear this tonight?" "I guess I do" he answered as he took it from her hand and placed it back on the dressing table. "I know it is going to itch like hell. I just hope that it doesn't come off" he added. "I like the boots though" Betty said. "And the cape is really nice" she commented as she went over to it. She tried to take it off the hanger and realized that it was much heavier than the cape with the hood. "Hope you don't have to wear this for too long because you are going to suffocate in it" she said to Taker. They sat in his sitting room and talked for a while longer. At 7:30 p.m. Betty told him that she was going in search of Storm so that they could reach their seats in time for the beginning of the show. She got up and Taker kissed her as she said "Good luck, tonight" and exited. Betty found Storm coming out of Kane's dressing room. "Storm, over here. Let's go find our seats before the show starts. They headed out to the arena and found their seats which were to the right behind the announcer's table. They had a good view of where the wrestler's would come out and the stairs that they would have to climb to enter the ring. A few minutes later the pyros started after the end of Sunday Night Heat signifying the start of Wrestlemania 15. Boyz II Men entered the ring to sing ‘America the Beautiful'. When they were done the triple threat match for the hardcore title began with Hardcore Holly, B.A. Billy Gun and Al Snow (the current champion) all vying for the belt. It was a good match and the winner was Hardcore Holly. The next match was Test and D'Lo Brown against Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart for the tag team belts. Jeff and Owen retained the belts and after the match Test and D'Lo fought outside of the ring. After that they had a boxing match between Butterbean and Bart Gunn. It was short and sweet as Butterbean knocked Bart out in the first round. Betty and Storm had begun making comments to each other about the fights so far when into the ring came the chicken. He was taunting someone in the ring and then ran out. Next up where The Big Show against Mankind for the honor of being the special referee for the match between The Rock and S.C. Steve Austin. The Big Show got himself disqualified, but Mankind wound up being taken (supposedly) to the hospital. The Intercontinental Champ - Road Dogg was out next going up against Val Venus, Goldust and Ken Shamrock in a 4 corners match for the Intercontinental belt. Val Venus and Shamrock got disqualified and Ryan Shamrock interfered in the match causing Goldust to lose to Road Dogg who retained the belt. Kane was up next and when his pyros went off Storm was on her feet yelling and screaming. When Kane was near the ring, the chicken came out again. Kane removed the chicken's headpiece and revealed that it was Pete Rose. Once again Kane took him into the ring and gave him a tombstone as he had done the previous year at Wrestlemania 14. Pete Rose was helped out of the ring by two referees. As Kane was watching Pete Rose being escorted out, Triple H came up on the ring from the other side and low blowed him. Storm groaned when this happened and turned to Betty saying "I hope he didn't get hurt too badly. I need him in working condition later." Betty elbowed Storm while they both laughed. It was a hard fought battle between Kane and Triple H both in and out of the ring. Towards the end of the match Chyna came out and grabbed a chair. She went into the ring and told Kane that she wanted to finish Triple H with the chair. Kane turned around so that Chyna could hit HHH, but Chyna hit Kane instead. When Kane turned towards her, Triple H picked up the chair and hit Kane two times with it. Storm covered her face because she could not bear to watch Kane get hit with the chair. Triple H then proceeded to apply the pedigree to Kane on the chair. Kane won the match via disqualification, but Betty had all she could handle trying to keep Storm from climbing over the railing and entering the ring, as she cursed obscenities at Chyna and Triple H. The next two fights between Sable and Tori; and Shane McMahon and X-Pac, went by while the girls spoke about Kane's match. Next up was the Hell in the Cell match between Taker and the Big Boss Man. Big Boss Man came out first and then Taker made his entrance accompanied by Paul Bearer. Betty's eyes practically popped out when she saw him walking down the ramp in his new cape. He looked so good she could not take her eyes off of him. At one point he made eye contact with her and she could see his eyes light up as he entered the cell. It was a very intense match with Taker being handcuffed to the cell at one point, but breaking the chain on the cuffs as he fell down after being hit by the Boss Man. Taker and Boss Man battled both in and out of the ring and towards the end of the match both men were bleeding from their foreheads. Taker grabbed Boss Man's hand and was walking the top rope when Boss Man sweep his feet off of the ring rope and Taker fell, straddling the rope. Betty looked at Storm and went "ouch" as she wrinkled her face. "Well, there will be no extra curricular activities for you tonight" Storm said to Betty as she laughed. The match ended when Taker tombstoned the Boss Man and then hung him from the cage with the help of The Brood. By the end of Taker's match both girls were dying to go backstage and talk to the guys. They left their seats and showing their passes to security, made it to the back as Taker was being looked at by the doctor. Storm took off in the direction of Kane's dressing room as Betty stood at the door to Taker's dressing room. She overheard the doctor tell Taker "It's just a scratch, but it is a bleeder. I'll patch you up and then I want you to take some painkillers, because when it starts to hurt, you could experience serious pain. Taker noticed that Betty was standing at the door and he smiled. She threw him a kiss and watched as the doctor put a small bandage on his head after applying some antiseptic to it. When Storm entered Kane's dressing room he was sitting at his dressing table with his mask and shirt off. She came over to him, put her arms around him and asked "Are you okay?" "Of course" he replied as he put his arms around her. "We train to learn to take low blows and chair shots" he added. "Man, you guys are good then, because those hits sure looked real to me" she stated. "Well, I will take that as a compliment to my acting ability" he replied with a smile on his face as he looked at her and planted a kiss on her lips. He held her to him and said "Let me shower quickly and change and we'll continue this later. He let her go, got up and went into the bathroom to shower. Storm could hear the shower going and his movements in the bathroom as he bathed. When he exited he was fully dressed and was toweling his hair dry. There was a commotion outside in the hallway and when Storm opened the door Austin gave her two beers. "Here. Give one to the big red guy so that you guys can celebrate along with me" he said as he walked down the hallway. Storm just stood there with a beer in each hand until Kane reached over her shoulder and pulled one out her hand. He popped it open and took a long swig from it. "Nice and cold" he said with a smile on his face as Storm turned to look at him with a ‘what the hell was that all about' look. Betty went over to Taker when the doctor was finished and ran her fingers gingerly over his forehead. "Does it hurt?" she asked. "No, but it will soon" he replied as he removed the fake beard. "It looked worst than it is" Taker added. Betty sat on the bench in his dressing room going over Taker's match in her mind. Taker turned around in the seat and looked at her sad face. He came over and put his arms around her. "What's wrong?" he asked. "It was hard watching you bleed in the ring and knowing that there was nothing I could do to help you" she replied. "And when you fell on the rope, my heart went out to you" she added. "Hey, don't feel like that. I have taken harder bumps than these many times" he said as he looked into her eyes. While Betty was talking to Taker in his dressing room S.C. Steve Austin had just won the belt off of The Rock and was celebrating by drinking beer in the ring with the referee. Minutes later Austin was heard shouting in the back as the wrestlers came over to congratulate him and have some beer in celebration. Taker and Betty heard the commotion and Taker said "He will be here in a few minutes. Next thing they knew Austin knocked on the door and opened it. "Here dead man, have one on me." Austin noticed that Betty was there with Taker. "Here's one for the little lady too" and threw Taker another cold one as he walked away. Betty and Taker looked at each other and laughed. Taker popped the beers open and handed one to Betty. He sat next to her and said "Here's to his win and to a long relationship between us" Taker said as they clinked cans and drank. He then looked at her and slowly bought his lips to hers and kissed her. At that precise moment Kane and Storm poked their heads into Taker's dressing room. "They're at it again" Kane said to Storm as they both laughed. "Come on in Little Brother" Taker said to Kane. "You too Sis" he added. Kane and Storm were also carrying Budweisers that had been handed to them by Austin out in the hall. They came in and sat down as they all drank their beers. Kane was still wearing part of his wrestling outfit and Storm could not stop staring at him. "Okay, what is the game plan for the rest of the night" Taker asked Kane. "I don't know. What would you girls like to do?" Kane asked Storm and Betty. The girls looked at each other and shrugged. Taker asked "What time does your flight head out?" "We're scheduled to be on an early afternoon flight" Betty answered. "Well, it's now almost 12:00 a.m., so we have roughly 12 hours to spend together before you girls will be leaving us" Taker said. "What time are you guys due to fly out for your next destination?" Betty asked. "We're on a late afternoon flight to Chicago" Taker answered as he held her hand. "Why don't we just go back to the hotel and spend some time together" Kane said as he looked at Storm with love struck eyes. "Sounds good to me" Taker said "If you want to" he added to Betty. "There is nothing I would like better" Betty said to him softly. "Give me ten minutes to change out of this" Taker said indicating his wrestling outfit "and we'll head out." "I'll go change also and we'll meet by the exit" Kane said as he grabbed Storm's hand and headed towards his dressing room. Ten minutes later they met by the exit. The guys were carrying their duffle bags with their wrestling outfits as they exited and headed towards the bus that was scheduled to leave for the hotel in a few minutes. They boarded the bus and went back to the hotel. When they got back to the guys hotel suite Taker turned on the t.v., made them each a drink and they all sat down to watch a movie. Storm curled up in Kane's arms and Taker put his arm around Betty as they all occasionally commented on the movie. After a while Kane and Storm said good night and went into Kane's room. As soon as they entered his room they practically tore each others clothes off in their excitement to get out of them. They made passionate love throughout the night. They finally feel asleep as the first rays of sunlight were making their way through the mini blinds in the room.

Chapter 11

Taker took Betty by the hand and led her to his room. They entered and he went over and turned down the cover on the bed. He laid down on it and patted the other side "Come and lay down next to me" he said to Betty. She removed her shoes as she walked over to the bed and laid down in his arms. He stroked her back as he held her to him. They kissed and made love throughout the rest of the night. They finally passed out in each other's arms. Betty woke up at 11:00 a.m. with Taker's arms around her. She kissed him softly and he stirred and opened his eyes. He held her closer to him until she said "Taker, it's been great and I know that this is something I will never forget, but I have to leave. I still have to pack and make sure that I reach the airport in time to get home." "I wish you didn't have to go" he said into her hair. "I wish I didn't either, but I have a job that I have to return to and obligations that I just can't turn away from" She replied. "Would it be okay if I come and see you in two weeks when I get a few days off" he said looking into her eyes. "I would like that" she replied as she kissed him and got out of bed and dressed. He sat up on the bed and rested his head against the headboard with a sad look on his face. Betty could not help herself. She came over and sat on the edge of the bed next to him and ran her fingers through his hair. She leaned her forehead against his and kissed him on the nose. "Here is my card. Call me when you get the chance" she said. He held her to him and kissed her passionately, not wanting to let her go. "Sweetheart, I have to go" Betty said to him, holding on to him for dear life. He finally let her go. She looked back at him when she reached the door to his room and blew a kiss at him as she exited. When she finally reached her room to pack, Storm was there already packing. When Storm saw the look on her face she came over to her and put her arms around her. "Betty, what happened?" Storm asked. "I feel so miserable. I have finally found happiness with the man I love and now I have to leave him" Betty said with a trembling voice as she started to cry. "I know just how you feel" Storm said as she rubbed Betty's back and let her cry on her shoulder. Storm bought her over to the bed and sat her down. "I don't want to leave Kane either, but we both know that I can't stay with him just now. We are going to get together as soon as he has some time off and we are going to figure out a way for us to be together. Which is what you and Taker should do also" Storm said. "I gave him my numbers so that he can call me. Do you think he will? Betty asked. "Girl, I saw the way that man looked at you. I bet you will have at least 20 messages by the time you get home" Storm said trying to cheer her up. "Let's finish packing. We have a flight to catch" Storm said. When the girls finally made it downstairs to check out, they saw the guys heading towards the parking lot getting ready to board the bus to the airport. Betty wanted to run to Taker and put her arms around him, but she did not want to make things worst for herself. She took one last look at him. He was dressed in black, wearing his shades and his do-rag. Kane walked beside him and they both walked like someone going to the gas chamber with their heads slightly inclined.

Chapter 12

Storm grabbed Betty and practically dragged her out of the hotel and into the limo that was waiting to take them to the airport. When they arrived they checked in and had to wait ½ hour for the plane to start boarding. As they heard their flight being called over the loudspeakers, they heard a commotion. They turned around and there were the wrestlers coming into the terminal with a crowd of fans. Betty stood there looking at Taker and he happened to look up. He saw her and she could see the smile that spread over his face. He tried to get to her, but she heard the last call for the boarding of her flight. She waved at him with tears in her eyes as she turned and walked up the ramp to the plane. When she got on the plane, there was a slight delay as more passengers were boarding at the last minute. When they were seated the girls became very solemn and quiet. The plane was not full and they were able to take separate seats so that they could be comfortable. Betty sat looking out the window as she thought about all that had happened in just 2 days. Betty was trying to make sense of it all when she heard a voice say "Mind if I sit here?" As she turned she said "I would rather . . ." then the words died in her throat because of what she saw. Taker stood there leaning towards her with a smile on his face. Betty did not know what to say. The tears just started flowing from her eyes. Taker sat down next to her and put his arms around her, bringing her head to his chest. "Betty, please don't cry" he said to her softly. "I can't help it. Here I was thinking I would never see you again, and here you are." She said into his chest holding on to him for dear life. "How did you get on this flight? I thought you had to go to Chicago" Betty said. "I do, but I don't have to be there until tomorrow night, so I asked Vince to make the arrangements for me to go the Florida first, then tomorrow I will fly out to Chicago" he answered still holding her to him. "I can't bear to be away from you" he said as he pulled her face up so that he could kiss her. "We will have to discuss this and see what we can come up with because if you feel the same way that I do, I know that it practically killed you to have to leave" he said. "Oh, Taker, please don't ever let me go" Betty said as she kissed him back. For the rest of flight they sat close and held on to each other. Kane had also boarded the plane to Florida. He approached the seats where Storm was sitting by the window. He at down next to her. He picked up a newspaper and covered his face with it as if he were reading it. He would turn the pages very loudly and was very annoying to Storm who just wished to think about Kane and the time they had spent together. She decided she was going to switch seats to get away from the aggravating man sitting next to her. She got up and when she turned to walk by him he lowered the newspaper. Her eyes went wide for sitting in the seat next to her, with a big smile on his face, was Kane. He pulled her onto his lap and kissed her before she had a chance to say anything. Storm could not believe he was here, holding her in his arms, but she kissed him back as tears of joy slowly ran down her cheeks. They did not say anything to each other, for no words were needed.
