Amy was ready to put her key into the front door of the building when
she
noticed it was broken. ˇDamn vandals' she said to herself as she
pushed the
door open and proceeded towards her apartment. She entered the
apartment
about half an hour after Edge had left. As soon as she entered she had
a
feeling that someone had been there. Her heart started pounding and
her
hands shook slightly. Her biggest fear was that someone was in the
apartment and that she would be harmed. She walked around gingerly
looking
in all the places where she thought someone might hide in the
apartment.
When she got to the bedroom, she thought she noticed a faint trace of
the
cologne that Edge used to wear lingering in the air. "I must be
imagining
things' she said. She went to the bathroom and saw that everything was
as
she had left it, including the towels and her hairbrush and comb. She
did
not notice that Edge's favorite towel was damp or that a couple of
strands
of his hair were entangled in her comb. She turned off the light from
the
bathroom and went back to the bedroom. She sat on the bed they had
shared
many nights and started to cry as she said "Edge why did you have to
leave
me" as she hugged herself and rocked back and forth. "I miss you so
much"
she said as she looked at the engagement ring which she refused to take
off,
even though all her friends had told her that if she was going to go on
with
her life she had to get rid of everything that reminded her of him.
She went into the closet and pulled out the red trench that he would
wear
at times to the ring and put it on. She could smell his cologne on it
and
loved the feel of the soft leather. She curled up into a fetal
position on
the bed with the trench coat still wrapped tightly around her as she
cried
herself to sleep.
Edge knew that he would have to find someone to help him, someone who
could walk around in the daylight. ˇChristian' he thought. ˇI know
this
will be a shock to him, but I have to do it'. He brought a sports
paper and
found out in what city the WWF would be in. He did not have to worry
about
planes, trains or any other mode of transportation as he was finding
out he
could get from one place to another by just thinking about it.
He arrived in Chicago as the WWF wrestlers were checking in. He
stood
behind a pillar so that none of the other wrestlers would see him. He
saw
Christian sign in, and moving faster than the eye could see, he went
over to
the register and looked to see what room Christian would be in. He
went
outside again and looked up. Christian would be on the second floor.
He
counted the windows and noticed that the balcony to Christian's room
had
been left open by housekeeping to air out the room.
"I can do this" he said as he jumped and landed catlike on the
balcony.
He entered the room and waited for Christian to arrive. He heard him
walking down the hall even before Christian had gotten anywhere near
the
room. Edge stood behind the door as Christian opened it and entered,
depositing his bags near the entrance. Edge pushed the door closed as
Christian turned around. When Christian saw who it was he started
backpedaling. He fell over one of the chairs, quickly picked himself
up and
proceeded to backpedal until he was flush with the wall.
"Hey Christian. It's me" Edge said as Christian started blinking his
eyes
open and shut, trying to see if the apparition in front of him would
disappear. "It can't be, you're dead. We buried you" Christian said
as he
shook his head. "But it really is me" Edge said as he came closer.
"Stay
away from me" Christian said as he tried to go as far back into the
wall as
he could. "Come on bro, you know it's me" Edge said as he came closer
to
Christian. Christian put his hand out and touched Edge on his chest.
He
let his hand wander up to his face and touched his cheek. "It feels
like
you're solid, but it can't be" Christian said as he brought both hands
up to
Edge's face. "It's really me" Edge said as he put his arms around his
brother and pulled him into a hug. Christian didn't know what to do,
but
after a few minutes he was hugging Edge back as he cried against his
shoulder. They stood hugging each other for a few minutes until Edge
pulled
back.
"Come on, sit down. We need to talk" Edge said to him.
