Fairy
Written By Sinderella Rose

Several hours later, Tarzanna closed out her program and leaned back in her chair. Had she d stayed to eat with Glenn s mother, she d probably have been missing for one year in human time, no wonder her father was so upset. Human time ran much faster than time in the fairy realm and she d learned that if a human stayed to listen to one song, dance one dance in the fairy realm, when they left they would die as soon as they touched earth, aging quickly as time caught up with them. It couldn t be pretty. She decided she d call the library tomorrow and see if they had anything on the fairy realm. She d not been able to find out anything about half human half fairy children but she believed Glenn when he said he was and it looked like she had fairy blood in her also...what did it mean, other than her glowing, how she could hear everything her parent s did when she wasn t in the same room with them and the sunlight thing? She didn t know but it could explain a lot of things she d never thought she d have answers too. She looked at her clock and stood, seeing it was almost time for Luc to go to school and knowing her father was getting ready to leave for work.

That night, she was on the computer when someone knocked on her bedroom door. Enter. She yelled, thinking it would be her dad. Hey Tarzanna. Glenn said as he walked in. Tarzanna gasped and jerked the blanket she kept on the back of her chair around her shoulders. What are you doing here? She half yelled at him. I told you I d see you tonight. Glenn said softly, seeing the color blue surrounding her. I didn t mean to frighten you. You didn t, I m not dressed. She said, her face flushing when she realized what she was wearing. An ice blue velvet teddy she d brought online during one of her moments of weakness. I think you re dressed very nicely. Glenn said, giving her a smile. What do you want? She asked, looking back at her computer. Did you ask your mother your great grandmothers name? Glenn asked, thinking fast. She was still not used to him. No, I forgot. Hang on. She started to stand and then dropped back into her chair. Can you turn around please? She asked softly. Instead of arguing with her, he turned and she stood quickly, running into her bedroom closet and jerking out a pair of jeans. Pulling them on, she grabbed a sweater and pulled it on then she walked out and said I ll be right back. As she walked out the door Glenn smiled.

Tarzanna walked into the kitchen and saw her mom. What was my great grandmothers name? Her mother looked at her funny and said Why? Just wondering. Whose side of the family is she on, yours or dads? Honey, I don t want to talk about this right now. Her mother said, hedging around the subject. MOTHER! Please, I really need to know this. Tarzanna said. With a sigh her mother sat down and said Honey, there is something I never told you. Things you don t understand. So explain it to me. Tarzanna said softly, not really wanting to hear what her mother was getting ready to say. Her name was Sonique. Her mother whispered. That s unusual. I like it, it s pretty. Tarzanna said, smiling because everyone in her family had a normal name but her. Her mother, Margie, her father Robert, and her brother Luc. Her mother just nodded and stood, walking over to the kitchen window. Whose side of the family was she from? Tarzanna asked, wondering if she could find anything on the internet about her grandmother. Before Margie could answer, Robert said Tell her, it s time she knew. Tarzanna tuned and smiled at her father. Know what daddy? She asked. Robert s not your father. Margie whispered, her eyes filling with tears.

Tarzanna sat, shocked. Mom, of course he s my dad. I mean... She trailed off when Margie turned and shook her head. I met a man right after I graduated from high school and I...I thought I loved him, but...anyway I slept with him and he disappeared and a few months later I found out I was pregnant with you and then I met Robert and I fell in love with him and told him everything and we married... Margie trailed off, seeing tears filling Tarzanna s eyes and then spill down her cheeks. I m sorry baby, I d hoped you d never ask... Tarzanna stood so fast, she knocked her chair over. Her eyes jerked from Robert to Margie and back again. With a strangled cry she turned and ran out of the kitchen.

She ran into her room and slammed the door, locking it behind her, having forgotten about Glenn. She ran past him and into her bedroom, flinging herself down on the bed. Glenn went into her bedroom and said Tarzanna, what s wrong? When she didn t answer, he sat down and stroked her back. Tell me what s upset you. He whispered, not knowing what to do. He s not...he s not... She started crying hysterically. Before Glenn could ask anything else, he heard someone knocking on her door. Honey, please let me in, let me explain. Margie said, understanding that she d just shattered Tarzanna s world. Tarzanna shook her head no, not saying anything. Do you want to get out for a little while? Glenn asked softly. Tarzanna didn t answer, just hugged her pillow tighter to her. Glenn stood and walked to the door, opening it, he said She s really upset right now, I think it would be a good idea to let her calm down before trying to talk to her. Margie nodded and said Tell her I love her. Glenn nodded and then shut the door softly. Going back toward her bed, he sat back down and then pulled her into his lap and let her cry until she stopped. Just rubbing her back and holding her. When she had calmed down he whispered, Are you ok? I don t want to be here right now. She whispered. Where do you want to go? Glenn asked softly. I don t care. Tarzanna answered, closing her eyes. Glenn smiled and disappeared into his hotel room.

He sat on the bed and Tarzanna moved off his lap. My great grandmothers name was Sonique. Tarzanna said softly, not looking at him. What? Glenn asked in shock. Sonique. Her name was Sonique. She lay back on the bed and then rolled over, her back to him. He s not my father. She mumbled as her eyes closed. Glenn sat for a few minutes, and then stood. Walking to the adjoining door, he knocked and then went in. Mark, can you keep an eye on Tarzanna for me. I ll be back in a few minutes. Mark nodded and Glenn disappeared before he could say another word.

Glenn reappeared at his mom s, going straight to her room, he knocked and then entered. Mom, I found out Tarzanna s great grandmother s name and you re not going to believe it. He said, sitting on the bed. Tink floated over to him and said Who? Taking a deep breath, Glenn said Sonique. Tink gasped and then sat heavily on her bed. Are you sure? She asked, looking him in the eye. Very. Her mother also told her that her father, wasn t her father, which explains why her brother doesn t have fairy in him. Glenn said. We have to go to the king. Tink said, standing and then going to her closet. I don t think... Glenn started but a loud trumpeting drowned out his voice. Look s like he s coming to us. Glenn muttered and waving his hand, changed his clothes to something befitting an audience with the King of Fairy s.

King Vid filled the small house with his presence, even though Glenn stood several feet over him and out weighted him by a good 250 pounds. Both Tink and Glenn bowed to Vid and waited on him to speak. Sometimes Glenn hated that fairies had such great hearing. Explain. Vid said, and with a wave of his hand his throne appeared in the house and he sat. Glenn took a deep breath and said I found a duma on earth. She didn t know she was half mortal, half fairy and she just found out that her great grandmother was... He trailed off and looked at his mother. Sonique. Vid finished, raising an eyebrow at Glenn, who nodded and waited on the sparks to fly. So my playtime on earth yielded fruit. Vid said with a smile laugh. You think this is funny? Glenn asked, not caring that he was speaking to his king with disrespect. Vid raised one eyebrow and Glenn said, I ll have you know that Tarzanna just had her entire world ruined because she just found out the man she d called father her whole life isn t and that she s not normal by any means and... He turned his back on Vid, taking deep breaths and trying to calm down. And why do you care? Vid asked softly. Turning back with a growl, Glenn said I claimed her, and I ll be damned if she s going to be hurt. Vid hid his smile and said So how old is she? Glenn s eyes widened and before he could say anything, he disappeared. Tink gasped and Vid smiled. Don t worry Tink, I ll not banish him, I would expect nothing less from the man that would claim my daughter.

Glenn reappeared in his room and paced, a red glow surrounding him. He muttered to himself, and rolled his eyes. He didn t notice when Mark shut the door between their rooms or Tarzanna rolling over and looking at him. Glenn, what s wrong? Tarzanna asked softly, seeing how bright his anger was. Your father is a... Glenn trailed off and turned, giving her an apologetic smile. You know my father? Tarzanna asked softly. Glenn nodded and whispered, I just found out tonight. What s his name? Tarzanna asked softly. His name is Vid. Glenn whispered. Did you tell him about me? She asked, afraid of his answer. Glenn nodded and Tarzanna looked down and whispered, Did he asked about me? Glenn didn t know how to answer her question. He didn t want to hurt her any further and he wasn t really sure how Vid felt about having a daughter. She looked up at him and before he could say anything, Vid and Tink were standing in the room with them.

Vid and Tarzanna just stared at each other and Vid smiled. She had his eyes, his lips, his nose and his hair. He didn t know which human woman was her mother and he really didn t care, but he was proud that he had a daughter, all fairy loved children. Hello daughter. Vid said softly. Tarzanna didn t answer, but the glow surrounding her spoke volumes. It went from blue to brownish/yellow then to red. She jumped off the bed and went to Glenn. Take me home. She whispered and Glenn nodded. He started the spell but never finished. You re not leaving yet daughter, I have some questions to ask you. Vid said, blocking Glenn s attempts to send Tarzanna where she wanted to go.

Tarzanna s arms tightened around Glenn. Please Glenn. She whispered. I can t. Glenn answered, his eyes burning holes in Vid. I won t allow him to leave until I have my answers. Vid said with a smile. Who the hell do you think you are? Tarzanna asked, turning on him an unleashing all the anger and hurt she had inside her. I m the king. Vid said as if that answered all her questions. Well bully for you. Tarzanna said. What was my mother to you? She demanded. A plaything. Vid answered and frowned when Glenn groaned. Tarzanna s mouth dropped open in shock and then she snapped it closed. Taking a deep breath she said A plaything? You think human s are some toy you can bring off the shelf until you get tired of them and then put them back in their lives and to hell with them? You re unbelievable. You ll learn my dear daughter, that humans are on earth for a very short time and were allowed to be put here so we d have something to do when we re bored. You ll be moving into the palace with me. We ll be leaving immediately. Vid said.

THE FUCK I WILL! Tarzanna screamed. I ll never NEVER live with you. Vid raised both his eyebrows and said You will lower your voice, you will NOT talk to me that way, I m your father. YOU RE NOT... She started but her voice left her. Her eyes widened and she looked at Glenn. Glenn s eyes closed briefly and then he looked at Vid. Give her voice back. He whispered, seeing the terror on Tarzanna s face. NO! Vid roared and with a wave of his hand, they all disappeared.

Fuck. Glenn whispered, seeing where Vid had brought them. Tarzanna looked at him over her shoulder and then flung herself into his arms. Calm down, I m here. He said. She pointed at her throat and Glenn sighed. I m sorry baby, I can t give it back. I didn t take it. Tarzanna looked at him and he hugged her, rubbing her back. He ll give it back when he calm s down, just don t anger him again. Glenn whispered.

Tarzanna jerked out of his arms and pointed at her throat then at Vid. Making hand jesters and then pointing up at the ceiling. He can t send you home Tarzanna, I ve taken his powers. You ll both remain here until you mate and then I may allow you to go back to earth. I m not certain yet. Tarzanna turned on him, all the anger she couldn t express in words vibrated out of her, causing vases beside and behind her to topple and fall off their moorings. She glared at Vid and took two steps toward him before Glenn could grab her.

Vid smiled and said She has my temper and my courage. Then, with Glenn holding her, Vid ran his hand over her cheek. Had I known you d been created, I ve have taken you the minute you d been born. Out of all the children I ve had, none, until you, had been girls. I ve always wanted a daughter. Tarzanna jerked her head away and glared at him. Glenn, take her to the red room, I think with her coloring it will enhance her beauty. Glenn fought the urge to roll his eyes and turned, pulling Tarzanna down the hallway. When he got to the red room the door opened for them and he walked her inside. The door slammed and Tarzanna s voice was returned. Sorry son of a bitch. She said, looking at the doorway. Calm down baby, do you want him to take your voice again? Glenn asked softly. Take me home now. Tarzanna demanded. I wish I could, but I can t. I m sorry.

Tarzanna looked at him and narrowed her eyes. I don t believe you. She said. I can t leave this room Tarzanna, not unless the King allows me to do so. Glenn said, having already tried to leave. Neither of you will leave until the mating is over. Vid s voice filled the air around them. Glenn groaned and Tarzanna opened her mouth. Careful what you say daughter, or you ll be having your mating without your voice. Vid said. Tarzanna s mouth snapped shut and she looked at Glenn. He just shook his head and rolled his eyes.

What is he talking about? Tarzanna asked softly. What? Glenn asked, playing dumb. Mating? Tarzanna said, her face flushing a little. He s saying that it s time I claimed you in the ways of our race. Glenn said. Why? Tarzanna asked. Because I took your virginity. Usually you have one fairy year to...accustom yourself to the mating but it seems Vid has decided that we ll mate today. Glenn said, not looking at her. Explain what the mating entails. Tarzanna said, hoping she could find a way out of this situation. Basically it means that we stay locked in this room for two fairy weeks and then we re officially mated, if we can survive to be around each other that long with no one else around us, we ll have a happy life together. Glenn said, watching her reaction closely.

Tarzanna was quit for a minute, sitting on the bed in the room she remembered what she d read about the fairy realm. Is it true that one full fairy day is 2 years in human time? She asked, fear in her eyes. Give or take around 7 months. Glenn whispered. My parents will be worried about me. Tarzanna said softly.

No they won t as of this minute, they are being told that you and Glenn were killed on your way home. They will pick up your body and you ll be buried in their way. Vid s voice filled the air. Great. Glenn said, holding onto his temper. You ve spent enough time on earth, it s time you took on your responsibilities here. Vid said, knowing that Glenn loved his job.

YOU CAN T DO THIS TO ME! Tarzanna screamed, running to the door and beating on it with her fists. OPEN THIS DOOR DAMNIT. I WANT TO GO HOME! Glenn grabbed her and pulled her back to the bed. Vid hadn t bothered to answer and she was sobbing quietly so she still had her voice. It s ok Tarzanna, I promise I ll take care of you. Glenn whispered. Take me home. Tarzanna cried. I can t. Glenn answered and Tarzanna cried herself to sleep in his arms.

Tarzanna opened her eyes the next morning to soft light shinning through the window in the bedroom. She looked around and realized where she was. She didn t remember a window from the night before, but she didn t care either. Her father had just destroyed her life. She lay on her side and stared at the wall, not bothering to look at Glenn.

How are you feeling this morning? Glenn asked gently. I want to go home. Tarzanna answered, not bothering to look at him. Glenn sighed and rubbed her shoulder. I ve been here one full day haven t I? Yes. Glenn whispered. I ve missed two of Luc s birthdays. He d be almost 9 now. Tarzanna said. I m sorry baby. Glenn whispered, pulling her into the curve of his body and holding her tight. She didn t answer and she didn t move from the bed the entire day. Vid sent food and she didn t touch it, now matter how hard Glenn tried to get her to eat, she refused. She ll kill herself before she stays here. Glenn muttered, knowing Vid could hear him. No she won t. Vid s voice filled his mind and Glenn snorted.

He picked up a book from the shelve in the room and started reading, hoping Tarzanna would speak to him soon. Very time he looked up, he saw her the same way; eyes closed and on her right side. Night fell and Glenn put the book up, not remembering anything he d read. He crawled into bed with her and pulled her into his arms holding her tight all night long.

The next morning Tarzanna didn t even look at Glenn. Just started at the wall and whispered He d be almost 12 now. Glenn nodded and said Honey, just...accept it, we re here and they re there and as much as I d love to send you to see them, I can t. Tarzanna didn t bother to answer and Glenn ran his fingers though his hair. Soon he felt very sleepy and he crawled into bed with her.

Glenn woke up to light kisses being brushed over his chest. He moaned and opened his eyes slightly, smiling when he saw Tarzanna s head poised over his nipple. Good morning. He whispered and she looked up giving him a smile. The first thing he noticed was her eyes. There was no sadness in them, just complete joy. Honey, you feel ok? He asked, pushing her hair away from her face. I m wonderful and how are you beloved? She asked, her voice breathless. Beloved? Glenn said confused. Yes, my love, my life. Tarzanna answered, dropping a kiss on his lips. You seem awfully happy considering. Glenn said, trying to figure out what was wrong with her. Why wouldn t I be happy? I m the daughter of a King and I am mating the most beautiful man in the entire fairy realm. Tarzanna said, leaning down to kiss his chest and then she made her way along his bellybutton. What did you do to her? Glenn asked softly, knowing Vid heard him. I took her memory of her time on earth. She doesn t think she s ever been there and she s happy. I would not let my only daughter kill herself with sadness. Fairies have to be happy almost all the time Glenn, you know that. She will not lose her life because of some mortals. Vid s voice filled Glenn s mind and he said Don t you think that s unfair? Vid laughed and said It s already been 8 earth years since she s been gone. Her human family has forgotten her, they have another daughter to be happy with. It s time for her to be happy with you, and remember, if you hurt my daughter, I ll hurt you. Glenn didn t bother to answer as Tarzanna settled herself over him. He was fairy after all and fairy never looked a gift horse in the mouth. Vid had taken her memory from her and she d be happy with him in their new home.

He watched her sleep several hours later and kissed her shoulder. He d miss his human friends, but he had a mate now, it was time to grow up and take care of her. Their two weeks ended and they left the red room to a grand party thrown in the honor of their mating. Tarzanna couldn t keep her eyes off Glenn and he wouldn t leave her side. She ignored all the fairy men that asked her dance and with one glare from her, the fairy women didn t come near Glenn and he didn t mind, when fairies mated for love, it was also for life. Pulling her into his arms, he danced her around the hall, her laughter filling his ears as above them on earth, years passed in the blink of an eye.

The End
