Chapter III
The girls waited for 4 weeks. Finally the letter came. Sharon nervously opened the letter, reading it slowly.
"Well, what does it say?" asked Margaret.
A big smile came on Sharon's face. "We hired!" It says to report to the arena in Chicago. They said the reason it took so long was they were doing a background check on us to see if we were okay."
"When do we leave?"
"It says to be there in 10 days!"
"We had better get started. First, we have to do something with the shop, get someone to watch the apartment, get clothes and tickets.
The local realty agency agreed to sell the shop. The girls decided to sublet the apartment in case things didn't workout. After getting their plane tickets, they went shopping, buying what was needed, knowing they would be able to get the rest later. Each packed one good size suitcase,
a duffle bag, and a small cosmetic bag. They board their place 8 days later for Chicago.
The girls were told what hotel they were to stay at. As the girls had a little time before the show came, they went around Chicago looking at the sights. The next day the girls were at the arena. Upon meeting their boss, Gerald Brisco, the girls were shown where and who they would be
working with.
Sharon would be doing the women's hair and makeup and she would also be doing some of the men's hair. Because of her background in nursing, Margaret would be the resident nurse plus masseuse. Each of them were excited and anxious. They were introduced to the crew and some of the wrestlers who had arrived early. The girls found them friendly and quite down to earth.
"Didn't know they would be hiring 2 nice looking girls. I think I might need a back rub soon. I feel a little stiff."
Margaret just looked at him and shook her head. Sharon was brushing Christian's hair, loving the feel of it as it went through her fingers. She was thinking would she be doing Kane's hair. Probably not.
Bradshaw said he was feeling stiff in the shoulder and asked if he could get one too. There was a smile on his face.
"It's amazing how all of a sudden there are aches and pains that need tending to." Margaret looked at Sharon and winked. Sharon had to laugh. This was going to be fun.
Sharon got to meet some of the women wrestlers. She shook her head after Moolah and Mae left, wondering why those two dinosaurs weren't holding their grandchildren. She found the other women nice and easy to talk to.
As the show would be starting in a couple of hours, she was busy with final touches to makeup and hair. Margaret was busy herself, making sure the medical kits and gurney were ready at a moment's notice.
Kane and Taker came in, already in their ring attire. They stopped and talked to Brisco.
"We just hired two new people, girls as a matter of fact. One of them is a masseuse. Should do fine as I recall, Taker, you've been having a little bit of pain in your shoulder lately."
Taker thought back to a couple of months ago when he had received that shoulder rub. That was the best one he ever had. She didn't even stick around for him to say thank you.
After the show was over, the girls packed up and help load the trucks. They were given a schedule of what cities they would be going to. As they hadn't unpacked it would be simple to get their things and go.
The girls decided to have a drink before going back to the hotel. There was a small bar not too far from there. It so happened some of the wrestlers were there. The girls found a table and ordered a beer for each of them.
"What a night." Margaret said. "I'm glad nothing happened. Did you get to watch some of the matches?"
"Yeah. I could see them on the small monitor in the back. Kane should did kick HHH's butt. Should have been Taker's though." She said with a grin.
"Okay, Kane did kick HHH's butt, but it would have been worse had Taker gotten a hold of HHH." Margaret said.
They were enjoying their beer when Edge came over to the table. "Mind if I join you?"
"No, go ahead and sit down."
"Well, what did you think about tonight?"
"It was great. I think Sharon and I are both going to like it. We're going to be leaving tomorrow morning for Detroit. You going to be there?"
"No, I'm going to be doing a house show in Philadelphia."
Kane came in. Edge called him over and introduced him to the new girls.
"You look familiar, haven't we met before? I never forget a face." Kane asked Sharon.
"You gave me an autograph about two months even though you were tired."
"You're the one that gave Taker the shoulder rub. Why didn't you stay behind? He would have thanked you." he asked Margaret.
"You gave Taker a shoulder rub! Here I thought I was going to be the first." Edge said with a boyish grin.
Just at that moment Taker comes in the door. He spies Kane and Edge sitting with the two girls at the table. Kane introduces the them, leaving out the fact that Margaret was a masseuse. Edge was quick to catch on.
