Someone for Kane

Chapter 11

Glen caught the first flight out to Dallas. After checking in, he showered and went to bed. Glen still had his dreams but now they were of a beautiful green-eyed woman. It was too late to call but he would talk to her after the show.

The next day Glen went to the arena about mid-afternoon for a light workout before the show. The other wrestlers came in. Upon seeing him they went over to him.

"Man! Where did you find that gorgeous brunette?!"

"Does she have any friends? If they're anything like her I want to meet them?"

"Glen, you've been holding out on us, man!"

"Did you get lucky!"

Glen kept on doing his workout. When he stopped, he picked up his towel to go take a shower.

"Hey! Aren't you going to say anything?"

Glen turned, smiled and shook his head, then went to take his shower, leaving them with disappointed faces. "It was none of their business," he thought. He grabbed a light dinner then went back to the arena to dress for his match. He wouldn't be wrestling till about half way through. He sat in the locker room getting into his ring mode. It was rather difficult as his mind constantly thought of Melissa. Mark came in to talk over the tag match they were having against Haku and Rikishi. He saw Glen day-dreaming. "Hey, Glen, come off of whatever cloud you're on!" he said. Glen shook his head. "Hey, Mark."

"I want to talk over the match. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. What's going on with the match?"

Mark explained what was to happen and how. "You got it?" Glen nodded his head.

"I take it you were thinking of a certain brunette?"

Glen nodded, thankful that the mask hid the red creeping in his face.

"She seems like someone nice?"

"She is. I'm going to call her after the show."

"Well, first, you have to keep your mind on the show," Mark said with raised brows, then smiled. "I wish you luck. Now let's get to our spot. The cameras are going to show us walking the hallway to the arena." Glen managed to keep his mind on the match. It was a first blood match, the guys making Haku and Rikishi bleed first. As usual Glen waited till everyone had left before showering. When he got to his room, he got Melissa's number from his bag.

"Hi, 'Lissa."

"Hi, Glen. I just got through watching RAW. I saw your match. Are you okay? They seem to hit you pretty hard."

"I'm okay. You watched the match?"

"Sure! I have to keep up with what's happening to you. Have the guys been ribbing you?"

"Oh, they tried. Some of them wanted to know if there were any others like you; claiming I was holding out on them. You know, the usual."

"What did you say?"

"Nothing. I just left them wondering."

Melissa snickered. "That will rouse their curiosity even more."

"Last night I dreamt about you."

"You did? What was it about?"

"I might burn up the wires if I told you."

"Where do you go next?"

"It's off to Florida. We'll be doing a taping in Pensacola, a couple of house shows in Orlando and Tampa. Then we head to Atlanta for RAW and Smackdown. After that is a PPV in Birmingham. That's not including other appearances and house shows."

Melissa sighed into the phone. "Looks like a busy schedule."

"That's just the first month. There's five more about like it."

"Does your schedule look like you'll be up this way?"

"I don't know yet. I won't get the rest of the schedule till the end of this week. As soon as I get it I'll let you know."

Some of the wrestlers were walking down the hallway. They stopped outside Glen's room as they heard a sound coming from inside. It was the sound of laughter. They looked at each other, eyebrows raised. Glen? Laughing? They walked on to the elevator, not believing.

Chapter 12

Glen received the rest of the schedule a couple of weeks later. He scanned, looking for when they would be back in New York. He saw it would be between Christmas and New Years. They would be doing a special end of the year show.

Glen called Melissa as often as time allowed him. Each time they talked he became more confident, his true personality beginning to show. It even affected his character Kane, who now began himself to emerge from behind the mask.

Melissa kept up with Glen's matches, always amazed at his athletic ability and strength, always waiting on Glen's calls, telling her friends she was expecting something important and had to be there.

Beth and Marsha knew their friend was serious about someone. Melissa would smile to herself, knowing one day they would be in for the shock of their lives.

Glen decided to surprise Melissa and arrive the day before Christmas. He was anxious to give her a special present he had found. He was also anxious for something else, his entire body on fire at the thought of being with her again.

Melissa took off Christmas Eve to do some late shopping. She came in the door loaded down with packages of last minute presents. It took a couple of hours but she managed to get them wrapped. She already had a few presents under the tree, one of them being for Glen. She had just put the others under the tree when there was a knock. Not expecting any company she wondered and opened the door. As soon as she had it open she was picked up by a pair of massive arms.

"Glen!" was all she was able to get out as his lips cut off any words she would have said. They stood in the hallway for a couple of minutes. Melissa was almost out of breath and broke it off. He carried her and his bag inside, putting her down and shutting the door.

"I didn't expect to see you until after Christmas!"

"I wanted to surprise you. Here is something for you."

He put his bag on the couch and took out a tiny gift-wrapped box. "Merry Christmas."

"What's this?"

"Something I found while on tour. Open it."

Melissa carefully opened the gift. Inside was a small velvet box. She slowly opened it to find an emerald bracelet. Her eyes opened wide as she gasped. She took it out of the box, holding it gingerly in her hand. "It's beautiful!"

"When I saw it I thought of you." He put it around her wrist.

"en, you shouldn't have. It must have cost you a fortune."

"It didn't matter about the cost. I just saw it was beautiful, like you."

Melissa put her arms around his neck. Glen bent down and kissed her. "I missed you."

"I missed you too. What are you doing here early?"

"The show will be here day after tomorrow but I didn't want to wait. I decided to come on ahead."

Melissa went over to the tree and got her present for him. "Open it. I hope you like it."

Glen sat on the couch, and opened the box, finding a Versace silk shirt. "Who was it that said it must have cost you a fortune?"

"Okay, Okay. But I couldn't pass it up. Try it on."

Glen took off his coat, then the shirt he had on. Melissa had to close her eyes when she saw his bare chest. "What's wrong?"

"Excuse me, but when I saw you bare-chested I can't help but close my eyes. You look so good."

Glen couldn't help but smile. The shirt was a bit tight in the arm area, but it fit okay. "Looks like I'll have to take it back and have the sleeves made larger," she said. "You look tired."

"I came here straight from the airport."

"Have you eaten? I can fix you something."

"No, I haven't eaten. I could have on the plane but the food didn't look all that good."

Melissa went in the kitchen to fix him a bite. She put together a steak, salad, and wine. Glen sat down and ate quickly. "That's the best I've had for a while," he said.

"Why don't you take a shower and then go rest."

Glen went in and took a shower while Melissa set about cleaning up the kitchen. He came back in the kitchen in a t-shirt and boxers, and without his mask. Melissa was just putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Glen came up behind and put his arms around her, kissing her neck.

"I thought you were tired."

Melissa turned around, her lips being claimed by a pair of eager ones. "Lay down with me. I want to feel you next to me," he whispered, picking her up and carrying her to the bedroom.

Glen put her on the bed, then lay beside her, his fingers gently tracing her cheek. "I missed you. All I could think about was you, of holding you." His fingers traced her neck, going over her chest, unbuttoning her blouse. Melissa arched her neck, his gentle touch sending shivers of pleasure through her. He kissed the top of her breasts, his hands feeling her nipples through the lace material as he removed the rest of her clothing. Melissa ran her hands under his t-shirt, helping him remove it. She kissed his chest, running her tongue over the nipples. Glen closed his eyes, throaty moans coming from inside. He got up and removed his boxers and mask. Opening her legs, he knelt between them, his fingers tracing every inch of her. Melissa groaned, his touch leaving a heated trial over her body, stopping at the her thighs. Lifting her hips he slid in, her warmth surrounding him like a glove. Glen closed his eyes as he moved in and out. Melissa moved with him, feeling him touch that spot, making her speed up her movement. Glen shook as he dug his fingers into her thighs, thrusting harder and faster as his need to release came closer. They came together, crying each other's name. When they had calmed down, he lay on his side, wrapping their arms around each other as they drifted off to sleep.

Melissa got up the next morning and made breakfast. The smell of coffee woke Glen up. He raised his head as Melissa entered the room. "Merry Christmas," she said, standing by the bed, holding a tray. Glen sat up in the bed, putting the pillows behind him. "What's this? Breakfast in bed?" She sat the tray on his lap, placing a napkin on his lap, sitting on the bed. "Eat while it's hot."

Glen dug in, feeding Melissa bites of bacon and eggs. "I'm going to take a shower." Glen watched, the slight sway of her hips warming his blood. He heard the water running, envisioning her standing under the water. Putting the tray on the stand, he arose and went in the bathroom. Quietly as possible he pulled aside the curtain, seeing her eyes closed as she rinsed her hair.

She felt a cloth going up and down her back. Turning, Glen slowly washed her all over. "For someone who's never been with anyone, you know what to do," she moaned. Glen rinsed the soap from her, going lower to the dark curls. Opening her legs, he palmed her slit, sliding his finger inside. Melissa slid her hand down his body to his shaft, grasping it, going back and forth, her ministrations making his passion grow. Leaning her against the shower wall, he lifted her hips, her legs around his waist as he slid in, burying his face in her neck. "Do me hard, Glen," she whimpered. Glen moved hard and fast. "Oh, yes!" she stuttered, her arms tight around his neck. Melissa felt him flow in her, sending her over, crying his name as she released.

For several minutes they stood under the water. When they calmed down they finished showering, drying each other. Melissa sat on the bed and brushed her hair. "Let me do you, Glen." Glen sat on the bed as she sat behind him to brush his hair. There was a knock. Putting her robe on, she went to answer.

Chapter 13

"Merry Christmas!"

It was Beth and Marsha. Melissa smiled and shook her head. "Merry Christmas, you two."

"Someone just getting up?"

"I just got out of the shower. I was trying to brush my hair dry. Come in."

"We were on our way to Beth's parents for dinner. Care to join us?"

"No. I have other plans."

The girls each had a bag loaded with presents. Each one gave Melissa their present. Melissa went to the tree and gave them their. Beth saw the suitcase on the couch. "Marsha, she has company." Marsha saw the suitcase.

"OOHH" with raised brows. "So this is the reason you have other plans."

Glen heard them talking, then remembered he had left his suitcase in the living room. Melissa just smiled and blushed. She then got a thought in her head. She went to the bedroom. "Glen, I think it's time for my two friends to meet you."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

Glen put his mask on, then his t-shirt and jeans. Melissa took his hand, kissing him on the cheek.

The girls were wondering what Melissa was up to. Their eyes opened wide when she returned with Glen. The girls stared, their mouths open. "Girls, I want you to meet Glen. Glen, meet Beth and Marsha, my best friends." The girls stared at the mask. "I believe you know him better as Kane." The girls almost fell to the floor. It was a few minutes before they spoke. "This... is...the...Glen..you..said..you met?" Beth asked, stuttering.

Melissa could hardly contain herself. She was wishing she had her camera. The photo would have been priceless. Glen hesitantly extended his hand. Marsha was first. "Hi" was all she could squeak out. He then took Beth's hand and gently shook it. Beth was at a loss for words.

"Oh, Beth, Marsha. Hello."

Finally they blinked, coming out of their stupor. "My God, Melissa. It's Kane!"

"How did you two meet?"

"Better yet, when?"

"That will all come in good time, girls. Now, don't you two have somewhere to go?"

The girls took the hint. "Come on, Marsha. We had better get going," Beth said with a wink.

Both girls walked to the door, Melissa behind them. "Have a good time you two."

When Melissa shut the door, she burst out laughing. Glen watched her, and started to smile. "You are something else. You enjoyed that, didn't you?"

"I sure did," she said between laughs. "They had been bugging me, wanting to meet Glen. For six months I endured their nagging. 'When are we going to meet this guy?' 'He must be something.' ' Can't you give us a hint?' They should be quiet for a while."

Melissa walked up to him. "The girls were right about one thing. You are something. Something very special." Glen put his arms around her. Melissa reached up and took his mask off, stroking his cheek. "I care about you very much." Glen put his hand to her cheek, looking deep into her eyes. Bending down, he covered her lips, then buried his face in her neck. "I feel the same way about you," he whispered, holding her tight as a tear came from his eye.

Melissa cooked dinner for them. Later they took a walk to the park, stopping at the fountain. Just for fun, Melissa picked up some snow and tossed it at him. Glen picked some up to throw at her. Melissa ran, then tripped and fell into a snow bank. Glen came over. "Are you alright?" trying hard not to laugh.

"No!" sticking her lip out.

As he bent down to help her up, she grabbed some snow and rubbed his face. "OOHH! Just wait!" He picked up a small bit of snow and rubbed her face. Melissa was laughing and squealing as they tossed snow back and forth, their clothes getting soaked.

They went back to the apartment, full of snow from head to foot. Getting out of their wet clothes, they showered and put on warm robes. Melissa made them some hot tea. They went to bed early as Glen needed his rest. Melissa curled up next to him, both content to hold each other.

Melissa got up to go to work the next morning. "I wish I didn't have to go in, but I had better."

"You never did tell me what you do?"

Melissa looked at him surprised. "I never told you? That's right I never did. I work for CPM Advertising Inc. I'm the vice president."

"Vice President? Well, VP, you could take the day off."

"I know, but I had better go in," she said as she was putting on her make-up. "I got this promotion only a few months ago, so I have to be sure I keep it." She kissed him on the cheek. "I'll see you when I get home."

"I probably won't be here. I'll be going to the Garden early. We're doing a special end-of-the-year show."

"I'll come home early to change and then come on down."

Chapter 14

Melissa left work early, rushing home to freshen up and change. She made it to the Garden about six o'clock. Glen had told security that she would be coming and to bring her backstage. Jim met her at the ticket office and took her through the seating area to the back. She saw last minute preparations being done for the show. He took her to the lounge to wait for Glen. It wasn't long till he came in and sat beside her.

"I see you're wearing your Christmas present," he observed.

"I want everyone to see it."

"Would you like something to drink?"

"Sure. What do they have?"

"Most any kind of soda, mineral water, juice, etc."

"I'll take a soda. Thanks."

Glen came back shortly with her soda. "I'll be wrestling mid-way through the show. It will be a six-man tag match. Me, Mark , and D'von are going against Haku, Rikishi, and Christian. You can watch it here in the lounge on the monitor over there."

"Are you sure they won't mind me being in here? I don't want you getting into trouble."

"No, they won't mind."

"I looked at the arena as I was brought back here. I didn't realize it took so many people to set things up."

"That's only a small part. You have the cameramen, control booths, which are those big trucks out back. Then the pyrotechnicians, the ring crew, drivers, wardrobe and make-up personnel. There's close to 800 people on the go. Then there is the company itself, which has its own advertising department."

"I didn't realize there was so much involved."

"Then you have the wrestlers themselves. Sometimes they bring their wives and/or girlfriends along."

"How do you handle the travel arrangements, hotels, etc.?"

"We have to do our own. It's really hectic. We sometimes have to leave to catch a plane to the next show a soon as one show is over with. And we usually rent our own cars to drive."

"All of this must cost a lot?"

"It does. We try to go as cheap as possible."

Melissa looked at her watch. "When are you supposed to get dressed?"

Glen looked at his watch. "Guess I had better get going. I'll come here to get you when my match is over." Glen kissed her on the cheek and left. Melissa sat in front of the monitor to watch. Their schedule was so hectic, it was no wonder they enjoyed what little time they had off. She thought to what Glen had said of girlfriends and/or wives going along. She could see why they would. The time they were apart had to be hard on them. Then there were the children. How did they do it?

The show started in the usual format. The matches began. The show went smoothly, the crowd yelling and booing constantly. It was time for Glen's match. After the other tag team came out, D'von was first, then Kane's music began playing. Melissa smiled as he stepped in the ring, raising his arms, dropping them, fire shooting out of the posts. Mark made his entrance, the match beginning with D'von going against Christian. She saw how Glen was cornered, being hit by all three men. She breathed a sigh when he got out of the corner and tagged in Mark.

Glen was tagged back in when Haku was in the ring. She saw him do several upper cuts, then toss Haku into the corner post. At one point Haku was beating on Kane, and gave him a head butt. She sucked in her breath. "That had to have hurt," she thought to herself. She then saw Glen take down Haku, then stand over him and hold up his legs and spread them apart. D'von climbed the corner post.

Melissa couldn't believe it. She saw Glen shake his head, like he was doing "Whassup!!". She burst out laughing. She saw the camera pan to Mark's face - total surprise. That was even funnier. When the match was over she saw Glen shrug his shoulders as he walked by Mark. Again at the top of the ramp she saw them talking. She shook her head and laughed.

Triple H came in the lounge to get a drink as he had finished his match earlier. He saw Melissa sitting at a table. He smiled and went over to her.

"Hello."

Melissa turned then went back to watching the monitor. This surprised him. Women usually were anxious to talk to him. He went and got a drink, thinking to try again. "Do you mind if I sit here?"

Mlissa saw a lot of the tables were empty. "Yes, go ahead. I was just leaving." Finishing her drink, she got up and left. Looking around she headed in the direction where she saw a lot of the wrestlers coming from. Jim saw her and went over. "Are you looking for Glen?"

She nodded. Jim took her to the area where the locker room was located. She stood by some chairs and waited. She had not liked the look on Triple H's face. She could see what he was thinking.

Triple H sat at the table slowly sipping his drink. "This makes twice now she's done this. What does she see in him?" He finished his drink and left to go to the locker room

Triple H saw Melissa standing near some chairs. She saw him coming and turned the other way.

"Well, looks like we seem to be going the same way," he said with a grin.

"I'm waiting on Glen. I hardly think that qualifies as going the same way.

"You sure you wouldn't rather wait on me?"

"I thought my leaving the lounge gave you the message."

Triple H came closer. Melissa backed further away from him. "Why don't you leave? I'm not interested, or doesn't it register in that so-called head of yours?"

"I'm the kind of person who doesn't take no for an answer. Once I see something, I go after it." He came closer. Melissa backed further away till she backed into the wall. His face was in hers, his arms on either side.

Glen had come out of the locker room and heard the conversation. He came up and tapped Triple H on the shoulder. Triple H turned around, a huge hand grasped his throat. Glen's eyes turned an icy blue. "I would suggest you leave her alone. She is with me."

Glen squeezed harder as Triple H was choking, his hands coming to tear Glen's hand away. Glen let go, red finger marks appearing. "Don't ever come near her again! They just might have to find themselves another Triple H." He turned to Melissa.

"I'm fine. Let's go," she said. Glen picked up his bag, the both of them leaving Triple H standing there rubbing his throat.

Triple H watched them leave. His eyes became slits as he gritted his teeth. He went in the locker room and looked in the mirror. He saw the finger marks where Glen had grasped him by the throat. "That son of a bitch! I've got to find a way to get them apart." He left the locker room to get in his car. He had to find out where she lived. As soon as he found out, he would think of a plan to get her for himself.

Chapter 15

Glen and Melissa caught a cab back to her apartment. When they got there, she fixed them a quick bite. As they ate, she explained what had happened.

"He had better not ever come near you or he'll never be able to walk again."

"I don't think he'll come around me anymore. I just hope you don't get into trouble. You do have to work with him."

"I'm not worried."

"You have quite a temper. I wouldn't want to get you mad at me."

"'Lissa I could never be angry with you. You've made my life worth living. It was pretty lonely till you came along."

Melissa listened as he told her of his younger days. Of how he got the scar and quitting school to leave home.

"You went through hell, Glen."

"Hell couldn't describe what it felt like to be alone. To be afraid to show your face for fear of the look people would give you. When I met you I thought it would be the same. But you took me as I was. It didn't matter to you." Glen held her hand.

"If only people would look beyond the outside, they would see the real you. How special you really are."

For several minutes they didn't say a word. Leaving the dishes behind, they went to her room and undressed for bed. Glen held her close as they lay there. Glen was feeling something he had never felt before. He rolled on top of her, holding her face between his hands. "I don't know if I can say this. It's new to me." He took a deep breath. "I'm in love with you."

Melissa put her hands on top of his. She too was new to this feeling. There had been other men in her life, but none that had made her feel the way she felt now. "I love you, Glen."

Glen lowered his head, his lips tenderly kissing her. Melissa moaned as he deepened the kiss more. She circled her arms around him. He rolled back to his side, kissing her forehead. Melissa snuggled closer. Both realized that what they had just shared said more than any physical act could ever say.

Melissa went with Glen to the airport 2 days later. There was an hour before he would have to board. They sat in the seating area, Glen holding her in his lap.

People would stare at the two of them, but neither one noticed. The hour seemed to go by much too fast. As they called his flight, they kissed one last time before he went down the tunnel. Melissa stood at the window and watched his flight take off. She stood outside and hailed a cab. The ride back to the apartment was very lonely. The phone was ringing when she entered. It was Beth.

"Where were you? I tried calling for the past hour."

"I was at the airport with Glen. He was flying out to another show."

"Is he going to be back for New Years?"

"No, he's not going to be able to, but he is going to call."

"Well, would you mind company? At least it won't be lonely."

"I guess not. I'll have a few snacks ready for you two."

Beth and Marsha came over New Year's Eve. They had a bottle of champagne with them to toast at midnight. To pass the time, the girls watched a couple of movies and did the usual girl talk. It came around to Glen.

"Okay, 'Lissa. How and when did you meet Glen?"

Melissa told them of her walk in the park and how he had come there also, and how he saved her from a would-be rapist.

"'Lissa! You never said anything about that! I told you so."

"I knew you would say that, so I didn't bother to tell you."

She went on to tell them of how they had met again in California. The girls wide-eyed as she told them of their date. The girls saw something in her eyes as she talked about Glen.

"Do you realize, 'Lissa, every time you talk about him your eyes light up? Have you fallen for him?"

"Yes, I have. Beneath the mask is a very special man. He's gentle and very loving."

The girls smiled. "Does he care about you?"

Melissa nodded.

"We may be hearing wedding bells one day."
