When I woke,it was 4am.I got out of
bed,wondering if Mary had stayed. Yep, there she was,sleeping on the
couch.I watched her sleep for a moment,Knowing that,even if Mark had'nt
told her to,she would have stayed with me anyway.Mary and I had known
each other for a long time,we went through alot with each other,joys
and
sorrows,heartaches,lost loves.
At that moment the phone rang and brought me back to
reality.I answered quick,trying not to wake Mary.
"Hello?".
"What are you doing out of bed?",it was Mark. "I just got up for some
water,and what's this I hear about you bringing someone with you?".
"It's just Kane,he hurt his back,he has some time off and he's been
wanting to see this part of the country,so I thought I'd bring him
along,you must know someone who is willing to give him a guided tour".
My eyes shot over to the now waking Mary. "I think that can be
arranged,where are you now?". "We are right here at the airport,waiting
for the damn limo to show up,we should be there in 20 minutes or so"
"20 minutes!,how did you get a flight to here so fast?". He
answered,"I'm The Lord of Darkness,I can do anything". I had to
laugh,he
started laughing,and I could hear Kane's deep laugh in the background.I
was getting a "look" from Mary,so I told her who Mark was
bringing,"Kane's coming with him,they will be here in 20 minutes" Mary
jumped off the couch and headed for the bathroom,I immediately heard
the
shower start.
Mark said the limo had arrived,they would
be here shortly.After hanging up the phone,I plopped on the couch
feeling exausted again. I was hoping Mary would hurry,so I could get a
shower before they got here.I laid on the couch to wait.
Mark and Kane arrived while I was
sleeping. Mary greeted them,staying remarkably calm,even in the
presence
of who she considered "the man of her dreams",Kane. As I woke I could
smell Mark's cologne,Still half asleep,I thought it was just my
imagination,and hoped Mary would hurry so I could shower. Then I felt
fingers brushing the hair out of my face,and heard a deep voice
say,"Are
you awake?".I opened my eyes to gaze directly into his beautiful,sexy
green eyes.
"How ya doin'?',he asked.I quickly sat up,making my head pound even
more
" I wanted to take a shower before you got here," I looked away from
him,still feeling groggy from the sleep,and a little embarassed,"I was
waiting for Mary,I must look terrible".
Tears filled my eyes,he kneeled down and put his arms around me.
"Hush,"he said,"You look beautiful".
He pulled me close to his chest,I put my arm around his neck,and rested
my head on his shoulder,he turned his head,and gently kissed my
cheek,tears spilled down my cheeks,as I enjoyed the feeling of being in
his arms again.
