For the next few weeks Edge walked around like a man in a daze.  He would see her face every time he closed  his eyes.  When he laid down he could feel her lying next to him.  At one point he was walking with Christian down the street and thought he smelled her perfume.  He did a complete 360 trying to see if she was around.  He stopped going out on “dates”, especially when Bridget called him.  He told her he was no longer in the business and gave her a number to one of his “friends”.  He stayed in bed most of the time when he wasn’t traveling, he didn’t want to eat and his attention span was lacking. 

 

The only time he would come to life was when he was in the ring, and even that was starting to suffer as proven by his workout with Taker. 

 

They were in the ring and Taker threw Edge against the ropes and came in for his patented clothesline where he hits you so hard you flip over the top rope.  Well when he connected with Edge’s chest, Edge flipped over all right but his foot got caught on the top rope and he flipped and hit his head against the edge of the ring as he fell to the floor, practically knocking himself out. 

 

The bad part was that Vince had come in to see how the workout was going and he happened to see what happened to Edge. 

 

“Adam.  Are you okay?” Vince asked as he came running down to the ring.  “I’m okay boss.  Just a slight bump on the noggin” Edge replied as he held the back of his head.  “Taker, how could this happen?” Vince asked looking up at Taker who was still in the ring looking down at Edge.  “Boss, I don’t know.  His mind hasn’t been on what he is doing since the party at your house” Taker replied as he placed his hands on his hips and glared at Edge.

 

Kane came around the ring and bent down to look at Edge who was still on the floor.   “I know what his problem is” Kane said.  “He’s head over heels for your niece.”  “Which one?  I have several” Vince asked Kane. 

 

“I know it’s not Sandra, cause she’s dating Christian.  I know it can’t be Jade cause every time he sees her he runs from her as if Satan were coming after him.  So I guess that leaves Betty” Kane said counting them off on his fingers.

 

“Betty?  I didn’t even know they knew each other” Vince said.  “Neither did we” Taker added.  “But from what I understand they went out on a blind date and hit it off.  Of course she blew him off after the incident at the party at your house involving Jade and that brings us to this” Taker said pointing to Edge still on the floor.

 

“Something has got to be done about this or else I will be forced to strip Edge of the belt before he gets killed in the ring” Vince said as he helped Edge up from the floor with Kane’s help and they sat him in the timekeeper’s seat.

 

“Vince, please don’t do anything.  I know she hates me, but I can’t help myself.  I love her” Edge said as he held his head. 

 

“Do nothing indeed.  I can’t have one of my stars getting hurt over something that I know I can fix” Vince said in a huff as he went up the ramp in the direction of his office.  “I have to do this in a way in which she will never know that I’m involved” Vince said as he reached for the phone on his desk and dialed a number.

Betty tried to keep her normal schedule but found it very difficult.  The only time that she really enjoyed herself was when she was with the kids that she tutored at the youth center.  She would help them with their reading and homework 2 times a week and on Saturdays she would play sports with them.

Betty was at the center with the kids the following Saturday when Kane, HHH, The Rock and Taker walked in. They stopped at the receptionists desk as Kane asked for Betty. The receptionist sent one of the girls for Betty, who was outside shooting hoops with the kids. "Ms. Betty, there are 4 enormous guys at the desk wanting to see you" The 8 year old said. "Be right back" she told the boys who refused to stay outside and followed her in with remarks such as "Man we can take them if they come to mess with Ms. Betty" and "They'll regret coming here to mess with our Teacher". "That won't be necessary" Betty said with a huge smile on her face. She came into the reception area followed by the boys. Kane came up to her and kissed her on the cheek. "Betty, you know the guys. Paul, Dwayne and Mark" Kane said. "These are our photographer Bob and our videographer Tim that Vince sent along to capture this meeting for later viewing on one of the shows. He says events like this, when we give our time to the kids freely, make us look more human" Dwayne added with a laugh.

"Hey it's HHH, The Rock, Taker and Kane from the WWE" one of the boys said with wide eyes. "You've got to be kidding!!!" another boy commented. "Man I watch wrestling every week, and believe me when I tell you that's them" the first boy said.

"Guys thanks for coming, but why are you here" Betty said as they shook hands. "When it comes to kids we are there" Dwayne said with the famous Rock smile.  "Kids are our biggest fans" HHH added. "Anytime" Taker said.  There was no way that they were going to tell Betty that they had been recruited by Vince for a special job.  Vince would kill them and so would Betty.

"Ms. Betty" one of the smaller boys was saying as he tugged on the hem of her t'shirt. "Sorry kids" she said as she broke her gaze from Takers. "Kids. These are some of the superstars from the WWE who have come to pay us a visit today" Betty said. Why don't we go outside to the yard and talk to them" she said as she ushered the kids outside and the wrestlers followed.

After an hour of questions and answers, the guys posed for pictures of the wrestlers with the kids.

Pictures of the Rock were being taken as he sat on the steps posing. Betty asked him "Can we take a picture together. I would like to send it to the girls on my yahoogroups list". "I don’t see why not" he replied as he padded the step next to him. He sat there with his elbow resting on his thigh and his fist supporting his chin. "Sit here and just put your arms on my thigh as you rest your head on your arms and look through, under my arm" he said. She thought that would be a wonderful idea and the photographer took several pictures of them like that. She had a dreamy look on her face as she absentmindedly rubbed her fingers over his thigh. "Lets give the girls something to really talk about he said as he raised her head with his other hand and brought his lips to hers. He kissed her tenderly.   He was enjoying this part of the act he was doing.

The photographer went nuts taking pictures of that moment. The kids cheers and clapped as they saw what Dwayne was doing. "You go Rock". "Yeah, Ms. Betty" they cheered as they whistled and cat called.

Dwayne pulled back and grinned, all the time staring into her eyes. She just sat on the step with her lips slightly parted staring back at him as she brought her fingertips to her lips. More pictures were taken of them in that position and then he went back into his playful mode. He stared at the cameras and gave the kids the people’s eyebrow. Betty had no choice but to laugh.

"Come on. Let’s go" he said as he got up. He extended his hand down and she put her hand into his outstretched one as he helped her up. He did not let her hand go as she got up, so they walked hand in hand. "We’ll pick this up later when there aren’t so many people around" he whispered as he looked down at her as she walked at his side and gave her hand a very gentle squeeze.

All the while Mark was standing next to the fence talking to some kids but occasionally looking over at what Rock was doing. 'He's at it again' Mark thought as he saw Dwayne kiss her. 'Man does he ever give up'. Mark shook his head and went back to talking to the kids.  Hope Vince understands that this is all part of the act when he sees this film. 

Some of the kids followed them. "Hey Rock, how about a game of hoops" one of them said. "You bet" he replied as he removed his bracelet and Rolex and gave it to Betty to hold. Mark, Adam and Paul joined them and they all started a game of basketball with some of the kids.

Betty walked away still in somewhat of a daze. She sat down on a bench with some of the kids that weren’t playing ball and started a cheering section. Occasionally, Dwayne would look at her and break out into a smile.

At one point, Mark was checking Dwayne and they bumped hard causing Dwayne to fall on his butt. The kids laughed as Mark extended his hand to help Dwayne up. "Pay attention to the game and leave her alone or Vince will kill you" Mark growled low at Dwayne. Dwayne looked at Mark with a surprised look on his face. "Oh, oh. I think Mark has a thing for the little lady" Dwayne said in a sing song, as he grabbed the ball from Mark's hands and ran towards the hoop. Mark turned to Paul and said "I'm going to strangle him" as he walked away from the court.  No one knew that Vince had told Mark that if anything went wrong it would be on his head.

Before the guys left they gave Betty ticket's to the last WWE's Axxess and Wrestlemania for her and the some of the kids.

Chapter 2

He walked into Axxess after a lady and 2 small girls. She saw him and took a deep breath. What a time to be without her camera. Their eyes locked and he smiled at her. He walked over towards her and as he stood in front of her he said "Hi". "Hi" she replied. "Are you here with anyone" he asked. "Yeah, them" she replied as she pointed at the kids and the other chaparone. "No husband?" he asked. "Do you she a wedding band on this finger" she said as she brought her left hand up. As they spoke you could tell the man was "leaning".

He smiled wider at that reply before security ushered him up to the ring for the question and answer session. He was there answering questions and interacting with the fans for about half an hour. As he got off he made it a point to walk past her and as he did he put a piece of paper into her hand. She opened it and it was a phone number, along with an address at "Cuesta Verde".

She looked up and he was looking at her with that famous smile on his face. She nodded her head and he winked as he walked towards the back, escorted by security. She was getting ready to meet up with the kids when one of the security guards approached her. "He said to please call him tonight". With that he walked away.

She smiled as she patted the piece of paper with his number on it. Now to get rid of the kids so that she could make, what she later realized, was the most important phone call of her life.

Betty told the other chaparone that she was tired and was going to head home, would he please take care of getting the kids home safely.. "Sure" he said as he headed towards the closest exit with the kids in tow.

She walked to the nearest rest room, pulled out the paper from her jeans, and dialed the number on her cell phone. After a few rings she was ready to hang up when she heard his voice. "Hello?" "Hi yourself" she replied. "I’m glad you called" he said. "Where are you?" He asked. "I’m still at the event" she replied. "I’m just getting into the limo. Would you like to accompany me?" he asked. "sure" she said with weak knees. "okay. Walk outside and around to the back. I’ll be waiting in the limo" he said. She hurried outside and walked around to the back. Sure enough, there was a black limo there. As she got closer the driver got out and opened the door. When she was close enough she peeked in and there he sat. He extended his hand to help her into the limo. "I’m so glad you agreed to meet with me" he said. "I’m glad I came" she replied.

The limo drove on until they reached a restaurant on the outskirts of town. The driver parked and they got out. They went inside and were shown to a quiet table in the back. "I'll be right back" he said. He walked out of the restaurant.

"If my wife finds out about this she will kill me" Dwayne said to the limo driver as he got into the limo and they left man who drove up.

He took a deep breath and entered the restaurant. He saw her sitting in the back and walked over to her. "Mind if I sit down?" he said. Betty looked up and her mouth hung open as she saw who was standing in front of her.

Chapter 3

 

His breath had caught in his chest as he entered the restaurant and saw her sitting at he table by herself.  He knew that he had to speak to her.  He approached her and stood in front of the table.

 

“What are you doing here?” she asked in a whisper.  “I was called and told to be here for a special meeting” he said.  “Mind if I sit down?”  “Yes I do” Betty stated still in a whisper as he sat down.  “Who called you and said to come here” she asked in a low voice.  “I’m not sure, but the person said that Vince wanted to see me at this location at this time” he added as he drank in her beauty.    

 

“Well as you can see, Uncle Vince is not here.  Are you sure you are not here to meet one of your “dates”?”  she said to him in a low voice.  “Jade is not here either, so you can leave” she added.  “I don’t do that anymore and I never liked Jade” he said to her truthfully.  “I went out with Jade cause Vince set us up and that was a mistake from the beginning” he added.   “We went on one date and she was all over me like white on rice and she was very persistent in going to bed with me, but I don’t like her in that way so nothing happened between us” he added.

 

Betty stood up to leave but he held onto her hand.  “Please don’t leave” he said.  As his hand held hers she felt a tingling feeling in her hand.  She didn’t want to leave, but she knew she couldn’t stay. 

 

She started to walk out of the restaurant.  He got up and followed her out.  He ran to catch up to her as she was walking over to the taxi stand.  “Betty, please wait” He said as he grabbed her arm and turned her around to face him. 

 

He couldn’t help himself.  He grabbed her and kissed her.  She resisted at first but then gave in as she realized that this was where she wanted to be.

Chapter 4

 

Her arms involuntarily went around his back and when he broke the kiss, she laid her head against his chest.  He held her tightly for a few minutes and without a word he let her go as he grabbed her hand and led her towards his car.

 

They drove off and reached her parking garage in no time.  They stepped into her private elevator and Adam hit the button to take them to her floor.

 

He pinned her to the wall of the elevator as he kissed her and ran his hands up and down her arms. 

 

When the elevator dinged and the doors opened they were facing her living room.  They stepped out and Betty locked the elevator before she led the way to her bedroom.  She stopped at the doorway to her bedroom as Adam came up to her and put his arms around her once more and kissed her as he walked her backwards into her room. 

 

He stopped her when they were close to the bed.  As he kissed her he slowly proceeded to remove her clothes.  His touch was soft and gentle and before she knew it he had her naked in front of him.  He removed his clothes before he proceeded to the next step. 

 

He placed her on the bed and began to pleasure her in ways that she did not even know were possible.  She was moaning way before he entered her and once he did, that brought her over the edge.  He didn’t stop, just continued slowly until he had her at a fever pitch again.  Once he knew that she was going over the edge again he joined her.

 

When their tremors had subsided he rolled over onto his side and pulled her into his arms.  He kissed her eyelids, her nose and finally her lips.  She curled up into his arms and fell asleep content.

Her elevator buzzer was ringing.  For how long the person had been leaning on the buzzer Betty does not know.  She did finally hear it and picked up the phone and pushed the button that connected the phone to the speaker near the elevator.    When she moved Adam pulled her closer to him and nuzzled her neck.

 

“Who is it?” Betty said with sleep in her voice, stretching and putting  her arm over her shoulder to hold his head as he kissed and bit her neck.

 

“Hey Cuzz.  Open the elevator so that I can come up and talk to you” Betty heard the voice say.  “Jade, if that is you, I really don’t want to deal with you or your nonsense today” Betty said into the phone.  Adam heard her and groaned.  “Don’t let her up” he whispered into Betty’s ear. 

 

“Look.  I know that Adam is up there with you.  I saw you guys go up last night and his car is still out here now.  You better let me up or I will find a way to get up there”  Jade spat

 

Since Betty knew that the only other way up was the fire escape stairwell which was locked from the inside and you could only open the door from the outside with the key that she and the security guard at the front desk had, so she wasn’t worried.

 

“Jade.  Go Away” Betty said as she hung up and dialed Linda’s number. 

 

“Aunt Linda” Betty said when the phone was picked up on the second ring.  “Yes, dear” Linda replied into the phone.   “Aunt Linda.  I have a problem and I need your help” Betty said.  “What is it dear?” Linda said with concern in her voice.  “Jade is downstairs by my elevator having one of her tantrums and I don’t want to call the police and have her arrested, nor do I want to go through a repeat of what happened at your house during the party a few weeks ago.

 

“Oh dear” Linda said into the phone.  “Give me 15 minutes and I’ll be there.  I’ll call you when I am downstairs” Linda replied.  When she hung up she put another call through.  “I need your help.  Meet me outside” she said into the phone as she hung up, grabbed her handbag and headed out the front door.

 “Now what?”  Adam asked as he pulled her closer to him.  “Well, I have to get dressed and take care of this problem once and for all”  Betty replied as she disentangled herself from his arms.  She walked into her bathroom and started the shower running.  She was just coming out as he entered.  She was lacing up her sneakers when the phone rang.  “Betty.  It's Aunt Linda.  Can you please open the elevator so that we can come up?” she asked.  “Is she under control or should I have the cast iron skillet ready to clock her with when the elevator opens up?” Betty asked.  “She is fine dear.  We’ll talk when I get upstairs. 

 

Adam only had time to put his pants on as the elevator rode up.  When the doors opened, Linda stepped out.  Behind her was Nash with a bound Jade.  She had her arms tied behind her back and duck tape over her mouth and Nash had her thrown over his shoulder.  When she tried to wiggle out of his grasp, he slapped her on the butt cheek.

 

Once they stepped out of the elevator, Nash dropped her on the floor unceremoniously.  “Betty, dear child” Linda said as she came over and hugged Betty.  Adam was just coming out of the room when he heard the elevator doors open.  He stopped in mid stride as he saw Nash with Jade and Linda. 

 

“Adam.  Dear.  I am so happy to see you here” Linda said as she came up to him, put her hands on his shoulders and kissed him on the cheek.

Jade was still tied and on the floor.  She was shooting danger looks at Betty, Adam and especially at Nash every time she looked at him.

 

Nash helped her up and whispered something in her ear.  Jade stared at him with wide eyes, nodded and stood quiet.

Chapter 5

After Linda greeted both Adam and Betty, she turned to face Jade while Adam came over and put his arm around Betty’s waist.

Nash stood behind Jade with his arms protectively around her shoulders. He wanted to make sure she didn’t act up, but also to make sure he had a good grasp on her so that he could move her out of harms way.

"Jade, do you promise to listen to me before you make a move or say anything?" Linda asked. Jade nodded. "Nash, remove the tape from her mouth. If she should say anything make sure you put it back" Linda added.

Nash came around in front of Jade and pulled the tape off of her mouth in one swift motion. No one else could see him, but Nash had a huge smile on his face. "Dammit" Jade said as she glared at Nash. Nash threw a kiss at Jade as he went to stand behind Jade once more. "Jade. Remember our deal" Linda said.

"Now Jade. You have got to stop this infatuation that you have with Adam" Linda said. "He is not interested in you, he loves Betty" Linda stated.

Jade went to open his mouth and Linda glared at her. Jade did not say anything. "Jade, dear. Have you been taking your medication like the doctor told you to do after the incident at the party? Have you been going to the classes he suggested you attend? Linda asked.

Jade nodded as she lowered her head.

“Now Dear.  Remember these words.  As your legal guardian I have authority to make decisions you cannot make for yourself, which means . . . If I have to put you away, I will”  Linda said.  “Now is there anything you wish to say?” Linda asked her.

 

“Aunt Linda.  I saw him first.  He went out with me before he started going out with her.  As matter of fact we were this close to making it” Jade stated.

 

Nash had his hands on her shoulders and gave her a pinch with both hands that she felt, as once again he brought his lips to her ear and whispered something.

 

“Okay.  Okay” she said to Nash as she turned her head to look at him with a smile on her lips.

 

“Linda.  May I say something?” Nash asked.   “Of course you may” Linda said with a smile. 

 

“I can guarantee you that Jade will not bother Betty or Adam again”  He said.  Jade tried to pull away and he held onto her.  “As a matter of fact.  I can guarantee that she will take her medication every day and in a while she will be like a new person” Nash added.

 

“How do you intend on doing that” Linda asked.  “Well, I plan on staying very close to her for the next couple of days and keeping her occupied.  That should take her mind off of Adam and Betty.  I will make sure she takes her medicines and I will find things for us to do that will definitely keep her mind off of coming near them to cause any problems” Nash concluded with a smile.

 

“Okay.  Show me you can control her by giving her the medication that the doctor gave for her” Linda said as she shook a pill into her hand and offered it to Nash as raised her eyebrow. 

 

Nash whispered something to Jade again and she turned around while he put the white pill in her mouth and she swallowed it with a smile.

 

After a few minutes the pill started to take effect and Jade leaned against Nash.  He unbound her hands and picked her up as he backed up into the elevator.  Jade laid her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

 

Linda turned to Betty and Adam and said “I will be speaking with you soon” as she too entered the elevator and pushed the down button.

 

They rode down in silence and Nash put Jade into the limo and sat across from her.  Linda got in and looked at Nash.  “What exactly did you tell her to make her obey you so easily?” Linda asked.  “Linda, a gentleman never kisses and tells” he said with a smile on his face.  “You have got to tell me what you told her” Linda said with a big grin.

 

“Well if you must know.  I told her . . .” he began.
